Hi Karmack, yeah when I was a performer there used to be a quote we used that went, "Bada-Bum Tisch!!!" It was meant to mimic the drum roll cymbal shot for a corny performance. A bit like "mwah! mwah!..mwaaaaaah!" for the cheesy trumpet call! |

Hello Everybody, Now I know I said I would concentrate on less gimmicky hilts but I do have a few "tribute" and "Inspired by" designs left in my workshop, so I best share this one with you. Some of you will be getting ready for the Christmas holiday blockbuster movie season and are eager to go to the cinema. Well here is a saber to "WET" your appetites even more... Can you guess the inspiration?  Ok a couple of Glamour Shots to help..   Worked it out yet? No? Ok this will help...  Yep this is a weapon for a watery warrior...Aquaman. I built this around the same time that I built my Black Panther hilt but I was able to add a bend to this hilt! (That took some doing as I had to bend both the inner core and the outer sleeve and get them to match and then align the pommel and emitter!) Anyway the hard work was worth it and I hope you think so too. Thanks again for checking this hilt out. |

Hi SFD, Haha! Thanks but I think I left a big clue at the top of the first picture - I forgot the filename was on show in the Window title bar when I took the screenshot!  I'm glad it still worked though and thanks again. (That's the Bend and Curve Modifiers off my list to learn now!) point incoming. |

That's a relief to know! I created that webbing using a wireframe and adding a Subsurface modifier that created rounded holes in the sleeve. Then when I scaled (not a pun) it to fit over the inner core the holes elongated to look like scales or his tattoos. Having seen the trailer last week I think it might look a bit like his suit even more. |

I'm sorry Lady Revan, it always happens...I type out a reply and somebody comments again as I'm in the process of sending it! I have a non clawed version as I told SFD above but I feel it just loses some of it's intimidation factor.

And I can do the Kessel Run too! I had this one lying around but just worked out how to produce leather textures without using images as skins. I'll post the finished version when I get a chance (I'm still working on about 8 other hilts ATM) point incoming |
