Quick question fro you Gumby (and anyone else who want to chime in). Did you leave the electronics in when you started modifying the hilt (dremmel and such)? I have a few sabers that I'd like to try some stuff on, but I don't know how to do any electronics work, so I'd prefer not to have to mess with any of that.

Yes, I absolutely left the electronics in during the entire process of my last battl dammaged Saber. Protecting the led is paramount. I kept a rag jammed down the emitter almost the whole time. Also, keep in mind where you’re applying heat. Other than that have at it bubba!! Just keep us posted!!!!!!!

As you can see, I have my US red led assembly from the DK STD, as well as, the AV and battery pack. The soundboard is out of a has Luke, and I upgraded the speaker to a decent 2w 4ohm I got a screamin deal on(and his brothers and sisters ). It all came together pretty good. Just standard wiring like they use on the TCSS forum, which anyone can look up if they’re curious. Gonna build a custom chassis to house the speaker and sound board. You’ll laugh when you see it, but it should be cool/functional.  |

And MRG,  This is the round carbide burr I like for the pitting. D7 recommended it to me, and it’s a killer tool. I use it in later stages.  This round, flat top cutter is great for ripping and slashing! It works faster than the burr, so you have to watch it.  And this bad boy is a friggin hammer!!! If it reminds you of a saw blade that’s because it is! This cutter is so fast it crazy. But, if you want deep gashes and crevasses this is your guy. Needless to say this thing is scary efficient, and if you don’t be careful with it you ruin way more than your saber! |
