Anyone bought or know someone that has bought The Butcher?  Just curious because it looks super uncomfortable to me.  I have yet to see a real picture of it, just the test renders they have in its place.  It looks like all the ridges and spikes would cut into your palm if you tried to wield it.

but they do not control me.
Domination can be broken.
Serenity can be a lie.
Knowledge gives me strength,
but power can be a weakness.
Peace and chaos gives me harmony,
Through balance I gain victory.
There is no Light or Dark,
There is only the Force.
Do not try to sway me or you will feel my wrath.

From what those that own it has told me, it’s most comfortable in the middle of the hilt where the fins are the thinnest

Hey cujoe, fellow Grey Jedi, i am waiting for my Butcher to be delivered. I've seen pictures and very comprehensive reviews of it. It beastly, but, i think it's pretty cool.  If you have smaller hands,  it could be a problem.

From the reviews I have watched, it's much too big for my smallish hands, so the claws would actually hurt if I would use it in a duel, or combat. My hand, from base of my thumb, to tip of my index/pointer finger is just over 5 inches. So, in this pic for example:

My grip on my Graflex CE leaves about 35mm or 1-1/3" gap in my grip. The Graflex is 1.537 inches wide at that point. The Butcher, is 1.6 inches, i'm supposing more with the claws, so my grip would be rather loose, especially if your grip is weak like mine is.

I have long fingers and can just close my hand around the top part, where it's thickest. Definitely the middle of the grip area is best for holding it. However, I wouldn't classify this as a wielding hilt at all. It's more of a display and cosplay piece to me. It looks gorgeous and deadly. Literally deadly. You could bludgeon someone with it. But, I would look elsewhere for a menacing looking saber for wielding in combat or spinning, such as the Raven or War Glaive.

The search function should yield plenty of threads with pics but LSG did a good job of highlighting some links for you.

Also here is an unboxing video I did if that helps you any (the Butcher part starts around 4:00):

I was concerned about the same thing, but I went ahead and purchased it because at minimum; it was quite possibly the best looking hilt I had ever seen. I received it and it is indeed that, but also not entirely uncomfortable to wield, spin, etc. As stated above, the best grip point in terms of spinning is near the middle-bottom of the hilt where the claw extensions protrude from the core hilt the least.

There's no question that it's not nearly as comfortable as a conventional hilt in terms of spinning, but it's certainly do-able and I haven't found it painful in any way to do so; bare-handed with no glove. From my perspective, the claw extensions were something I just had to get used to. In that respect, the Butcher was no different than my Renegade, which due to its sheer weight; required a different wielding approach. My initial compensation for the Butcher was simply a slightly looser grip.

Just watched your video Thanewulf. I really enjoy my Butcher as well. After seeing yours and Bluewolf's blue on blue makes me wish I had gone that route, but black & VA will have to do for now. Thanks for sharing. Dark side point

As you can see in the picture of my black AV switch on my black Butcher it seems even the black is a little lighter in the area. I think the anodizing is just not as thick in these areas for some reason so they give off a lighter appearance.
