Completely understand. I wish there was a standard that’s followed like cell phones, it’s either USB-C for new phones or Lightning chargers
That's the problem with electronics, there's no standard, because it's constantly changing. For UltraSabers to have the Obsidian V3/V4 cards updated with newer tech, it would be easier and cheaper instead to use other boards, like the competition uses - just understand, UltraSabers is one company, alone, trying to make a living. Cell Phones are a whole different level of tech, which costs boat loads of money to develop, which is why they can use the newest connectors, faster chipsets, etc..
Note: over the last 40 YEARS, computer connections have changed many times. We went from 9-pin D-subport, mini-DIN/PS/2 port, serial/parallel ports, not to mention firewire port. USB did not become standard for decades, which started with usb 1.1, then 1.2, 2.0, to 3.2 which is current. Lightning, mini usb, micro usb are relatively newcomers to the field. All those changes didn't happen overnight & were very very expensive to develop.
I'm just surprised and happy that US makes the products they do, for the price they sell them for. Which is why I keep coming back to them.
