Hey guys, wondering if anyone else has run into this. So I haven't messed with my Initiate with Obsidian v4 for a while and turned it on tonight to play around with it. Oddly, it immediately started repetitively making the various "swing" noises like when you move it around. I tried engaging "clash" but it ignores me. I also can't seem to get it to stop making swing noises aside from turning the saber back off. I tried removing the batteries and putting them back, but same thing. Changed to a different sound font, same thing. These are default sound fonts I'm testing with, I modified the 7th sound font months ago and everything worked fine so I don't think it's the sound fonts.
Any potential fixes? Anything I can do with the software to "reflash" it or something? Or is this an RMA?

Usually, when Obsidian starts doing weird things like that, that's all there is to it. The boards don't handle low batteries that well.

hmm, no dice. batteries were at ~30% when I put them on the charger but I charged to 100% anyway and put them back in. same thing. :/ |

just tried that now, formatted the device using DiamondController software - then loaded the Obsidian font manually (oddly, it didn't even have enough room in the sound bank for all the clashes/swings so I had to delete some) and flashed it. Same thing. I'll contact support. |

will do, thanks for the suggestions guys. really odd too because it's just been sitting on a shelf for a bit while I've been customizing my other ones. low battery made sense, now I have no idea what happened. |

Just got my Initiate back, turns out they said it was just a "damaged wire connected to the LED" which they repaired. I'm not certain how that caused the board to thing it was constantly being swung, but whatever, it works again now. If anyone else runs into something like this, I guess give everything a visual inspection really quick you might save yourself some time and hassle with a quick repair.
