2018: A reflection of the year in movies

So, let's take a moment to reflect on 2018 as a year for popular film:

- Sony has made a very financially successful Venom movie without Spider-Man.
- A Star Wars movie has bombed at the box office.
- A movie written by J.K. Rowling set in the Wizarding World is considered disappointing (even being compared to the Star Wars prequels)
- Sony Animation (the studio behind THE EMOJI MOVIE) has made a Spider-Man movie that, in the same year as Black Panther, Infinity War, and Incredibles 2 is being considered by many as the best superhero and animated movie of the year.
- Infinity War broke hearts as well as records
- Black Panther showed that movies featuring a non-white lead and cast can be hugely popular and successful

So I guess this is for sci-fi and comic movies only? You didn't mention any others.

My favorite movie of the year was Bohemian Rhapsody! I was just glued to the film, and I know it has its critics for not being 100% accurate but that doesn't matter to me. And the money it made is crazy, worldwide to date it has made $636,646,783! Now I know that is Avengers kind of money but damn LOL.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout is pretty awesome too. Plus, it features the infamous mustache they had to digitally erase for that one pickup shot for Justice League.
