Thanks Infinit. It's my most custom saber by far, and it motivates me to do more. Who knows, maybe I'll remember to pick up paint for the next one. You're welcome. I'm always been a fan of your work and this is by far one of my favorites. I look forward to seeing up you'll paint one in the near future.

Hi. Was going through some old pics and found a Frankensaber that I put together for fun and curiosity. Must have been when the dark Manticore emitter first was available. The Shock hilt is from a trade I did with Hazard. Thought that you might enjoy seeing this and I never used the saber in that version.

Whether in home built Frankensabers or those won in raffles, has anyone encountered issues where the mix and match MHS sections won't stay tightnened together? I have a Reaper emitter and sleeve that like to come loose when I clash the blade against something. I crank down on it by hand too, all to no avail.

I have not encountered that at all, and I am going to ask a question that I REALLY HOPE someone with experience will chime in and answer. Would this be a good situation to use LOCTITE(tm) Threadlocker 222 (that’s the magenta-colored one with the lowest torque rating)? It says fasteners can be removed using hand tools, and that it is suitable for aluminum (which is DEFINITELY something to keep in mind here).

I was thinking about Loctite too, and also using something similar(?) when assembling components that are not indexed when fully snuggled together. In my Frankensaber , I noticed that the Reaper’s sleeve fits in either direction, so I flipped it around and it seems to stay tightened a lot better, although the claw now ends up underneath the saber relative to the switch

Agreed. Great emitter and pommel choices that truly fit the body of the hilt quite well

I’m liking how the term “Frankensaber” has gone from something that was assumed to be a truly random combination of spare parts in a special laboratory at US , to a broader definition including DIY combinations done with thought to compatibility and appearance .

update: I am seeing now from the US website that the Reaper emitter's claw is oriented underneath the blade , when viewed from e AV switch "on top" pic. Or am I looking at it wrong? I have ordered some "clocking rings" to try and index the claw in relation to the switch, in a fashion similar to the pics of the Reaper. Has anyone had to use those rings and did you have any success?
