Like the title says, I'm wondering if this is really the case as it seems like it to me.

I just got my two new sabers, which both use the new board and the single li-ion cell plus a dummy.

When I ignite them next to my older Obsidian sabers, the volume seems to be only half of what the older ones put out.

I'm just wondering if that's how it's supposed to be and if there's a way to get them as loud as the older ones.
Already tried setting the volume to max in the software.

Hmm... I don't think Ultra would sacrifice that much sound simply for FoC.  It's not really an equal tradeoff.

Try swapping pommels.  It could be that your new saber's pommels aren't as resonant as the old ones.  Other than that, I can't think of a reason it'd be that way, except for the lower voltage.

Already tried that. And I didn't get them with FOC! Tongue
I guess the new boards are standard for all Obsidian setups now.

Does anyone else have sabers with both the new Obsidian and the old one to maybe compare them?

Also tried with fully charged batteries, with same results.

Sorry to hear that you are having soundboard issues, I  have noticed that my new Prophecy V3 is about the same volume as my Bellicose, which has the old Obsidian. Try contacting US, maybe.

I did, hoping for an answer. I actually sent two e-mails because I forgot to mention the sound thing in the first one.
Hope the last one wasn't ignored since it had the same subject as the first one!
I was kinda hoping they might see it here and give me a quicker answer though Wink

This is messed up. I can't be the only one who experiences this, especially since it's with both my sabers.. O.o

I just checked my Bane with old Obsidian against my Consular with new obsidian, I removed the pommels from each saber and made sure that the speaker was flush with the bottom of the hilt.  They both have the standard obsidian sound font and I have not changed any settings with the program.   I could not tell any difference in sound levels between either of them.

This is not the case, email us at info@ultrasabers.com if you are having issues with your saber with your order # and a detailed description of the issues you are experiencing.
