This is my initial review of the Dark Graflex. As typical of an UltraSabers made lightsaber, it's solid, detailed and overall wonderful.



I ordered mine with gold accent buttons, white illuminated black AV switch and a recharge port, with diamond card as my usual set up. 32" Ultraedge midgrade blade.
It matches wonderfully with the Graflex CE I also ordered at the same time.

While watching my video (not edited yet for viewing), I noticed a scratch on the reverse side of the hilt on the switch collar, as shown below:



It's not a huge scratch, and it's very shallow, so i'm going to try to repair it with some black self etching primer. Rewatched the the video I shot and it must have been packaged that way since I never had my knife near that part of the hilt before I removed the bubble wrap. Fully anodized items like this can be very tricky to keep from being blemished so i'm not surprised this happened and i'm not too worried about it, but I am just making this noted.

Overall, i'm quite pleased with this new hilt, it will make a wonderful addition to my arsenal.

When the video editing is completed, I will add it to this thread.

I'm sorely tempted to get a couple sets of "bunny ears" from TCSS and attempt to plate them myself, in either bronze or copper. The black on black doesn't match my vision for this saber. - Plus, replace that nut on the recharge port with a bronze one. Maybe replace the blade collar too.

Not bad actually =] Blazing Red or Fire Orange? Can't really tell. Of course since its diamond you can change to any color really Tongue

Congrats, Chalion! Sorry about the scratch, but no in the worst place to try and fix it. I was of the same opinion that there should be more gold accents. Like maybe the emitter section where the blade fits in, or the ribbed area going around the clamp area. Easily added with a bit of paint Smiley

I've all the stuff I need to repair the scratch, but not the time. Plus a little hesitant to try it out. Also waiting for the weekend to go to my home improvement store for the screws, nuts and parts I want to get in either brass or with some kind of gold accents. Was able to get the recharge port nut off, but of course put another little scratch in the collar. Very annoying.

Since I have my Asure Reaper (that I won in a raffle as a mystery box a couple of years ago), i'm going to use it to experiment on by using the etching primer to darken out the etched design. Hilt is scratched up anyway, so it'll be good to play around with, before I commit to doing the repair work on the Dark Graflex. Will be interesting to see what a blue and black hilt will look like.

Also it gave me the idea for when I get my Grand Master LE, to use the same primer to darken the silver on it.
