I got this Aeon V4 in a mystery box last year as my first saber. It's equipped with lite sound, windows, av switch, and blazing red led. Finally decided to do something with it. First on the menu I gave it a quick and easy weathered look.



It was alright for a while but recently I decided to do just a bit more.





I still need to do something about that pommel...

Let me know what you all think of a first time custom that literally cost me nothing. Used spare parts like a real Jedi/Sith lol

I'd actually like to get my hands on some paracord and wrap it like a katana.  But maybe I'll save that for whenever I decide to get the Spectre.

It's super easy.
1: sand the hilt
2: spray paint hilt (I used flat black)
3: after paint sets for about 30-45 seconds, use a fine thread towel or some sort of brush and some rubbing alcohol or solvent to randomly wipe off some of the paint.
Just use your imagination and keep going until it looks good. You can repeat if you feel like it needs more. I taped off my choke points and av switch because they would be constantly rubbed down in use so they wouldn't get the build up of dirt and grime like the rest of the saber. I focused on the emitter a lot too for the burnt effect.

I got an Aegon in a mystery box, too, but it isn't ventilated at the emitter like yours.  Yours is definitely giving me sabre-envy now.  I love that weathering effect you did, too. Cool idea and very well executed. I might have to try that with mine, now.

shaker: Nice way to make the Aeon v4 yours. Once you start customizing your hilt(s), it's tough to stop.


note: paracord is nice to use as a wrap, just know that it will significantly bulk up the hilt, especially in a cross-weave. So I hope you have large hands.
