Some of you may remember the customization I did to my Specter right after it was released. I liked it until I didn't, So it had to change. I ended up taking it completely apart and redoing it. I like what I ended up with a lot better then the original. Even the oops's ended up being a positive. I removed the paint leaving some in strategic places to add depth and age to it. I sanded down all the metal and gave it a rough weathered texture. A splash of color was added to the grip area to break up the aluminum color scheme. In the process of reassembling I lost two of the recharging pins so I added some twisted wire to fill that area and the red wire gives it just that little something. I am still looking for a permanent blade plug. The current one is lacking "something". Over all I like where it has come.

Hi TR-77477,

That is some spot-on weathering. I love that activation box and the whole saber looks about 20-30 years old now! (In a good way of course)

And the blade plug?...maybe one of those "engine core" plugs would look good (so it matches the windows and shine through of the emitter)

Great work and a point for your efforts.

Thanks everyone. I am not one for "bling", heck my ring is bronze. I wanted it to look the part of a well used saber. I am not a Jedi but not quite a Sith, just call me a grey. It now looks the part of a loved and well used saber. Used by someone who doesn't have access to the temple resources.

No sorry, I was referring to a plug that has the copper wire spindle from an electric motor and looks like the core of a jet engine or one that has an electric razor blade cap. I'll look up the web addresses for you and send you a PM later ok.

I finished the custom blade plug using an old US standard blade. I really like the way it turned out, even if it isn't really visible when lit.
