We all know the controllers are rugged and tough, but is all those hits good for any of the internal hardware or plastic?

I'm not sure of how much heat actually happens inside there, so I don't advise actually wrapping the entire module with felt.

But I have an idea that might help 2 problems:

On the battery casing/speaker mount, there's a region just behind the speaker, before the batteries themselves.

It goes full circle or mostly.

Glue some felt to that, with a tiny (1/4" to 1/2") tab sticking up over the speaker.

Assuming it still fits, it'll cut down on rattle and give you a handle to pull the module out when changing batteries

I don't know about y'all but I have to bang on the side with the hilt downward just to get my fingers on the casing enough so I can pull it out to charge the batteries.  And I take the batteries out after EVERY session.

that can't be good for the electronics or the plastic.

That little tab shouldn't interfere with sound (hopefully) and enable easier extraction.

I would not advise felting without that tab or you'll never get the batteries out Smiley

Fandom mash-ups are fun.

Felt is just mashed-together wool, so my tiny little brain would worry about threads (or tiny pieces thereof) from the wool coming loose as the felt deteriorates over time, creating dust and eventually getting everywhere.

Not having worked with felt much since, oh, four-and-a-half decades ago, I might be entirely wrong here, so please educate me, if so.

That'd be important to check.  Felt of some sort is used on the bottom of all sorts of knicknacks and such.   And perhaps an alternative material could be used. I've not seen any loose fibers from other projects with the sheets of felt I've worked with. So it might not be a problem.

I know UltraSabers are pretty dang tough, but is this a solution for a low-risk problem. I see the possibility of it, but haven't had mine for long.
