As some might have noticed, I tend to assign sabers in my collection to characters I write.
I recently completed a painting project, and I wanted to post this pic. Its four saber hilts that represent "clan" sabers for the Mak'Tor. These all have a familial connection as well. Which would make sense.
From left to right the sabers are and belong to:
1: Apprentice V4 LE in SRD - represents the saber carried by Ar'Nor'Mack, wife of Ka'a'Mack.
2: Aeon V3 in Lite Blue - represents the saber carried by Er'Lav'Racc, a distant cousin of Arnor through the Chillum family.
3: Initiate V4 LE with extension in lite blue - represents the saber carried by Ken'a'Nia'Mack, son of Karmack and Arnor.
4: Aeon V4 LE with Archon pommel in GB - represent the saber carried by Master Du'An'Chillum, Master Singer of the Mak'Tor and father of Ar'Nor'Mack.
Anyway, I enjoy having a visual of the sabers my characters are using. I can't draw or create images like some folks here, so this serves me. :-)
The unique coloration of these sabers would be due to the use of special materials and sections during construction and are "house" characteristics, so you can often tell a Mak'Tor Knight's clan affiliation from his saber hilt, though there is some cross-over as a warrior may carry certain design patterns from one clan to another via marriage, or mix techniques learned from both parents if both are Knights (as in Ken's case).
These colors reflect Clan Racc and its sub-clan Chillum. Similar patterns would be found in the Naith and Sonn clans.
I am working on the Clan Mack exemplar next. Hopefully I will have that soon. :-)
