Here's a few more pics. The orange is fire spinning; the others are flashlights w/ Lee filters, glow sticks and a saber. If anyone is interested in techniques, feel free to message me.

Hey Tai,
You can start off with an old wire whisk tied to a piece of rope. Stuff the whisk with steel wool and you're ready to go.
(Disclaimer---neither I nor US are implying that my above suggestion is safe in any way!)

Thanks for the tip, although I think I might ask a friend. Her boyfriend has a contactstaff suited for firespinning, and he has a lot of experience in (fire)juggling, so I think I'll go that way.  Wink

How dit you make those writings in the air? I know the bit about a flashlight and writing, but what camera and settings did you use?

Have what you want to draw/write already planned out. (I proposed to my wife this way) Make sure to go slow and not rush it or the clarity won't be there. Any camera that will do long exposure (preferably set up on a tripod to reduce shake) will work but I use a wide angle lens on my Nikon 750 and to give me more "canvas time", I prefer around 35 to 45 seconds.  I think the "All you need is love" image was done at about 20 secs so it wasn't as clear as I like. The increased exposure time can bog down the rendering in older devices and take forever but imo it's worth it.

Hope this helps and please post some pics when you get with your friend? I'm quite interested!

Thanks, I will try those settings in the near future. Have some ideas allready.
For the firespinning, I think that's something that'll have to wait untill this summer. But Ill definately share some pictures.

I finally figured out how to do this. It turns out my phone didn't have a aperture option to change shutter speed, but my old reliable digital camera did:

And my personal favorite:

Nice job! Now, if you make certain to move your body the entire time, you shouldn't be able to see yourself in the pictures.

Where's the fun in that? Otherwise how will you know it's me? Cool

Tried to keep moving and 'remove' the body.

One of my kids wanted to try.

I like the black silhouet that's in the light.

Looks great Zren (point)!
Why you want to use MG blades? Mine are all HG and I think they look great on a picture.

Just easier to move around. I'll be doing some painting pics with my Crimson Savior this week too since that saber has a mid grade blade
