Hello friends
As a result of being altered, updated, etc. for different platforms; there have been quite a few changes to the "Son of Darkness" font since it debuted here about a year ago. In the case of a big update to one of the "other guys" boards in particular, unique functionality was implemented for which additional sounds had to be created. The functionality isn't directly transferrable to Obsidian/Diamond, but I've been able to incorporate some of these sounds into existing sounds, movements, etc.
Specifically, there are sounds that play immediately prior to "Power On" and sounds that play immediately after " Power Off". Many font makers used character dialog for this (which I did as well), but then I created a series of "Malfunction" sounds; 8 for pre-power on and 8 for post-power off. With the entire theme of the font being an unstable, unpredictable lightsaber; I figured a set of sputtering, sparking pre ignition sounds would be a nice compliment.
So... I have already mixed these malfunction sounds into the existing power on and power off sounds that were previously released, along with a few new power on sounds that have been developed since - and I will upload them to the existing "Son of Darkness" package for Ultrasabers.
Then of course, something that Ultrasabers has a definite leg up on the competition is the ability to control LED sequences. Neopixel blade control is getting better all the time, but there is still nothing close to the control we get via the Ultrasabers Launcher software. I am currently matching the malfunction sounds with LED sequences, and the accompanying effect files will be uploaded for your use as well.
Next, I developed a handful of sounds for a new "drag" effect for the same update. We do not have a drag movement on US sabers, but... some of you may find these sounds to be a grittier version of a lockup, so they will be uploaded as well.
Finally, I mixed ninety (90) pieces of dialog from the first two films of the sequel trilogy; focused on the antagonist primarily, but also some from his master. You can use these for pretty much anything you want, but can be quickly used as font title/boot sounds.
I'll try to put together a short video showing the new sounds with the LED sequences and post it here when ready
