As the title suggests, I'm hoping to build a staff out of Archon v2.1 sabers and I'm curious of this possibility, if it is to be a dedicated staff (never taken apart) can I wire both LEDs onto the same soundboard?

Thanks for your input, friends!

Yes this can and has been done. You just need to remember to leave enough wire length to handle the screwing together or make sure to keep your LED housing free to rotate until after screwed together. It is easiest using premium sabers as you can remover the emitter attach the body to the coupler then reinstall the emitter to lock down the LED.

I will likely be doing my Sentinel V4 staff that way when I do its upgrades.

Does this mean both sides will activate on one switch, or can they still operate independently of each other?

It can be done either way but there are a few notes to that. There isn't a soundboard out yet that will use two switches to operate two blades separately.  The board will have one activation for both sides. You can put a latching switch in line with the second LED so that one will activate with the board and the other when you want to turn it on. The only drawback is that there will be no sound effect for the second ignition. Ultrasabers are well suited for this setup as they all come with a switch hole pre-drilled even if you order empty.

isn't this what the Dominicide is?  a single piece staff hilt.

Yeah. They added the dominicide because a whole lot of staff sabers were dying in the cart because of the cost of 2 sets of electronics.

Compromise? A staff combining saber with sound and a saber with LED only, joined with the quick release coupler. 2 sets of electronics, but only one of them with sound.

I test built an apprentice v4 saber with obsidian v4 sound on only one side (No Flash on Clash or Emerald in the hilt with sound electronics) and a quick release coupler and as of today (1/15/2020) , it came to $310

Remember you can join any two sabers with MHS-compatible hilts using this  coupler (or any MHS coupler)

Yes and the Dominicide being designed for it is much easier to work with. It comes with only one switch hole while any pair of sabers has two. The Dominicide also has the access door in the middle to access the body of the electronics without twisting anything while screwing the saber bodies together onto a coupler.

I've seen the videos, and unless I missed it, the Dominicide lacks one feature I like, The ability to uncouple for single blade and/or dual wielding.

That it does but so would any staff assembled to work both lights with only one soundboard and only one switch.
Its more of a specialty saber for those who prefer the style.

Yes, that's one of the downfalls with the Dominicide, is that it's always a saberstaff. It's also a brute. But, you can also change the emitters, so there's that.

I'm thinking of blade-plugging one end of the dominicide and treating it as a hand-and-half or zweihänder for days when I don't want a saberstaff...

That would work cool,  or even swapping in a different emitter or a pommel, so the claws aren't grabbing at you from the off end.

True, since the Dominicide is MHS compatible, a pommel could be used instead of a 2nd emitter, but then that to me, wastes the function of that LED. It would look more like a Graflex with an extension attached.

I'm hoping the free blade plug will be a nice one (but have gotten two generic ones with my order)… figure I might be able to swap either the emitter from the Dark Apprentice LEv5 or whatever I get from the freeinitiate or mysterybox, so the saber still glows....

will probably eventually try to figure out how to rewire the diamond card to support the second blade separately from the main.
