New to these forums, but spent 15 years doing stage combat at medieval/renaissance faires before finally getting my own lightsaber to work with. Now I'm looking at a fun idea to do at cons by getting a bunch of other stage combatants with lightsabers and setting up at the cons as "the Jedi Knights who say NI!", kind of a mashup of Star Wars and Monty Python.
We need more comedy, after all. We would gather some musicians to travel around the events with us, playing music from the Star Wars saga on medieval instruments and a few others that would have a set of coconuts to make horse-galloping sounds.
I may have to get permissions from Lucasfilm/Disney as well as the people who currently hold the licensing rights for Monty Python in order to make it happen, but that's okay.
