Hello all!

just received my Dark Initiate V5, flipped the claws and applied some sandpaper. I think it looks pretty good.

That is so beautiful!!

Now that you’ve flipped the claws, are there any sharp edges where you hold the hilt?

Some times, the simplest mods are the best.

No, in fact it's way more comfortable to hold. Visually and functionally it's just a better design with them flipped. I don't know why it wasn't designed this way originally.

Hey there, acsunda. Nice Dark Initiate V5 you have here, I like how something as simple as using sandpaper brings out a bit of weathering and personality to the saber

Very nice!

That gives me some ideas...    Sweet!

And I love the way the weathering with the sandpaper brought out that grenade grip.   Awesome!

I just received my Initiate LE V5 and want to remove the claws to flip them as well as to make it easier to do a custom paint job. How did you go about removing the claws without damaging them?
The weathered black looks awesome btw!!

Wow!  Magnificent!

What grit sandpaper did you use?  Did you use any particular technique?  Did you run the paper across the length of the blade or around the circumference?
