I never had a saber as a kid, not even a store bought toy one... of couse that never stopped me from using my plastic toy swords as if they were lightsabers!  Grin

The first one that I finally did buy was the Anakin/Vader with the light up sound feature. It was like that Luke ROTJ one in that the blade would extend and retract but not quite all the way. The cool feature on it was it lights up both Blue and Red. (the plastic blade is actually clear) I still have it somewhere I think... probably packed in a box in storage somewhere...

Oh yeah, I remember that one, my cousin had it I believe.  Pretty cool how it could switch colors.

I remember snagging the Obi-Wan TPM extendable toy saber as soon as I saw it.  At one point it was that one, a purple Mace Windu extendable one, and a Dooku hilt.  My brother and I used to duel all the time... except he used to use "saber throw" when I got too hardcore lol.

Niassa - Lady of the Force's Will

Of course it still glows in the dark, do you know what the half-life of radium paint is?  Shocked

(And at that age, it probably was, too!)

I had this same one as a child.  I think it still resides at my parent's house. (I may need to go pick it up soon along with my other swords.)

I fell in love with Star Wars early on, even though I wasn't born until 1983.  I remember going to comic book and sci-fi conventions looking for the original yellow lightsaber toy from the 70s.

Okay looks like I have you all beat on this one......I had the 1983 ROTJ Green plastic hilt/blade lighsaber with "Force Swoosh" effect.  Basically the more you swung this baby the more it would whistle with the holes that were cut in the hilt.  You had a Green and Red, but I think that may have been other colors.  These came out for ESB and ROTJ....This was the holy grail for me at the time.......

ahhh memories!!

this is a CRIME scene!!    those poor jedi younglings!!   you followed the dark path right from the start.. lmao... this is truly the koolest lightsaber... and belongs in a plastic/glass wall mount display... as is.... you could have made money on this design for the sparring application... lmao... with an age recommendation of 15y + with adult supervision.. not that we would have waited for the parents to be there when pulling them out during a sleep over lol

My first lightsaber was a toy product (it wasn't tailored to a specific movie, the box just said "STAR WARS"). It was essentially a flashlight painted to look like a lightsaber hilt with a telescopic white blade. I think that lightsaber is the reason why I love Adegan Silver so much.  Smiley

I am but a youngling, my first lighsaber was a gift from one of my older cousins, it had a white blade and came with paint. I think it lasted about a day, and it is probably floating around here somewhere

My first Lightsaber was one of the extending Qui-Gon Jinn plastic ones that came out right after Ep1.

My first lightsaber was one of the telescoping Qui-gon's with a blue blade. Later on, I got a MR Anakin ROTS.

my 1st lightsaber was a length of pvc pipe, painted day-glo orange, with electrical tape wrapped around one end as the hilt. i remember liking the woosh sound as i swung it about. i must have been 7 or 8 years old at the time.
