I was wondering if I buy an Ultrasaber hilt, is it easy to switch out the gaurded switches with a different type? say an AV type or something else?

I have had trouble with some PVC hilts, so not sure how the metal hilts would do. US sabers are meant to last against a good deal of force, so it is slightly difficult.

It would end up costing a bit more but it would be less of a hassle toorder a DIY hilt and wire ityourself. The switches can be a pain to work with even if you've done it a few times... Or you can find a sabersmith and pay them to do it.

At one time Ultra used blue switches on blue sabers and red switches on red sabers...I don't know if that is still practiced but if you are looking at old pictures that may be the reason for what you saw.

Pretty sure you could ask Ultra for specific colors. Usually I think they try to do whatever looks best with the blade and hilt. But there are different colors.

You would need to make the hole bigger, and then purchase the switch separately and a switch bezel so it will fit. Whatever setup you have, your switch will also need a resistor so the switch's LED won't blow.
