Wow its here , Almost 7 weeks so here are my thoughts

1: packaging was good
2: Quality is excellent, nice clean tooling and finish
3: Heavy ( this is a good thing for me )
4: came as ordered
5 :will i order another one....OH hell yea !!! even with long lead time and communication issues.

I have to put some time in with it to get used to its handling compared  to my training staff but i expected that . It is a bit to long ( 86" with a quick coupler )  not sure if i will leave it or cut blades down. Handling it like a real light saber not having use of it full length as you would with a traditional staff this will change how i use it ( adjust my techniques )

Hey I'm considering buying one of these with the quick connect and im wondering how they feel when using them separately. Do they feel pretty balanced for one handed use? Looks awesome btw.

If you have skill in handling swords or other sabers then you will enjoy ( keep in mind it is 1.5" girth not for small hands ), as a staff i love it,  on the heavy side which i hoped for and felt real good on my first two hvy spars with it

Update : i now have put in a few hours with my new dark sentinel v4  staff and here are my thoughts.

Hows is the saber holding up in heavy sparring... no issues at all not with hilt, blades nor electronics

let me explain how i define heavy sparing .. waist up.. no thrusts .. no deliberate hand impacts... full safety gear, head pieces, eye protection, groin protection. chest guards for females optional for males, soft hand guards for younger less trained students . full speed medium strike power .

The staff is heavy and thick,  this particular model with a quick coupler is balanced  spins are easy to perform, grips and chokes and over all control is good , as for the quick coupler i would say if your not going to split it into separate sabers i would say don't use a quick coupler its makes the center easier to track but adds to thickness  and is a bit loose.

if your going to treat it as if it were a true light saber weapon , start your flow drills being mind full of hand placement and body contact with the blades we often in traditional staff work rely on body contact to help keep track of position, some of the traps and rolls you can do with a traditional staff are not advised with a true light saber even without full contact just being close to a live blade would cause injury .

Closing thoughts:
if your going to engage in heavy sparring with a saber staff choose one with little or no extra elements like claws, bunny  ears, fake buttons etc  keep it simple, use the heavy grade blades , round tip , i have no experience with sabers with sound so i can not speak to the electronics involved holding up perhaps another heavy user can speak to this area ,  in the end its about having safe fun with our sabers be it heaving sparring, solo work outs ,
choreographed demos or simply collecting them.
