I've seen this question on the forums before.
I believe Deep responded with a YES, but didn't elaborate further.

I dunno.....from what I've heard, neopixel blades are NOT cheap; if something happens to the blade, it's a pretty penny to replace it. I plan on using my sabers and would be too paranoid about something happening to the blade.  I'll stick with the standard tubes, thanks.

I would like to own 1,  with a decent controller, some of the effects you can have with one are crazy cool.
Definitely not for dueling, blade cost is prohibitive but apparently they are becoming more combat friendly

Agreed. The blade cost is prohibitive, and, while improved, those 140 or so LED's are still pretty vulnerable to heavy dueling.  That being said, I know there must be quite a few out there who have a handful of hilts, and have ranked them all the way from, "these are my thrashers/beaters", to, "these are my shelf queens" (and those in between).   I would guess that most of the NeoPixels are relegated to the shelf.  Until they come out with something with all the bells and whistles but also has the durability and reliability of a plain PC blade, NeoPixel will have to stay in it's "mostly show but no GO" realm.

From what I understand, UltraSabers are the COMBAT lightsaber specialists.  You CANNOT full-contact duel with neopixel plades (no matter what the sabersnobs say) without destroying them.  They WILL malfunction with even moderate duelling.  That being said, since UltraSabers deals in COMBAT lightsabers, neopixel will not stand up to that kind of use, and therefore are not on their radar.

If UltraSabers has a hilt you'd like in a neopixel setup, buy an empty/DIY hilt and either have someone install neopixel for you, or learn to do it yourself... its not hard.

well, as for me, I am among those who has a small spectrum of hilts , all from Ultrasabers.  These are of course categorized ranging from the "beaters" all the way up to the shelf queens that for one reason or another would not be my first choice for full contact.  In my case, though, the categorization is largely symbolic. I don't engage in full contact dueling beyond what my grandkids bring to the fight..  which is more like sparring.

In any case, in my world, the spectrum of my collection serves a purpose. Whether it's sparring with the kids or watching their eyes widen at demonstrations of other sabers' features, they sure love it... and so do I.

Agreed. I "duel" with my son quite often, which is more like me just parrying a constant barrage of death swings from a 7 year old, but it's the best.  I have some sabers that I wouldn't duel with, and some that I don't mind dropping on concrete.  It adds character.

Haha yes that’s my oldest grandson to a tee. He plays to win plus he likes to clash hard enough for the FOC to trigger. Gives me a good workout , but yes I have to use one of mine that is more sturdy internally and has a better blade mount . He used to have my old Bellicose but the blade holder kept working loose (not the best “beater” I’ll admit) . Now he’s got a fairly basic Chinese made hilt (blame my daughter, it was a bday present lol) which is nothing to write home about but it has held up well.

I told him it’s gonna be awhile before they make NeoPixel blades strong enough for fights to the death lol

yeah I know you cant realy duel with them just wanted them to have the option of the neopixel.. I think they would realy get more customers this way.
I hear people on facebook always bashing ultrasabers so for this reason neopixel would be a great benefit in my opinion.
I have one myself from another company and its great and its not as flimsy as you guys seem to make them out to be. it is a little heavier yes but
you get so much more out of one. the scrolling effect is movie acuarate and always makes people go wow. I only use my saber to twirl and show off never to duel anyway.
I have a twilight neopixel from crimson dawn sabers and it wasn't much more expensive. but like I said ultrasabers should get with the times and start offering these.
Smiley its in demand so why not get on the band wagon! not saying they should go all neopixel just offer this in their options Smiley

So much inaccuracy here. Pixel blades can be dueled with when assemble correctly. In a heavy grade tube they are as durable as the tube and often outlast it. I have seen it done.

I heavy combat duel with both US stunts and also use pixel blades sabers in a heavy grade configuration as well. Pixel heavy grade blade hold up in combat just fine. I switch depending on what I'm doing.

This is the way.
Pixel strips are highly resilient in contast to old string /ladder LED blades. They are more securely held together and the diffusion foam offers significant protection.
Eventually any blade will break and pixels blades are more expensive to replace when that time comes, but I have seen instances where the broken tube can be replaced by sliding the strips and diffusion into a new tube. So there is a risk of higher cost but at not much greater frequency than regular blade replacements.

another comment from me would be the weight bias of a NeoPixel blade vs a regular hilt-lit blade. There’s no denying that it makes the saber nose-heavy, which isn’t of much consequence if one is exploring the resilience of the blade in combat. It does make them a bit less choreography-friendly, to me, unless counter balanced with one of the more substantial pommels US offers.
