Initiate v2 Custimization project

Planning on doing my first real custimization on a saber.

The weathering tips of Balimawr (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=46229.0) and the guidance of Firehand on my illuminated AV switch (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=46189.0) gave enough confidence to try and do a custimisation of an Initiate I own.

Nothing fancy yet, but I started with doing a pre-wrap to get a general idea.



Next step is waiting for the Aluminum Black to arrive.
Do a test on a spare piece of aluminum.
Then get the electronics out of this saber
and start sanding and blackening.

I did a test sand and Aluminum Black on a spare piece of aluminum today.
Result isn't all that bad I think.
Stuff really reacts fast, so I think I'm gonna move indoors when I treat the hilt.

And you can use multiple treatments to get darker results

Thanks for the tip Therion, plan to gut the hilt today, maybe even sand it and do a treatment.

As good as finished. Might do another wrap with a thin piece of cloth around the upper chokepoint, but I'm satisfied for now. My first costumized lightsaber is a fact!

Hi.  Nice job on your first customization.  It's a good feeling to make a saber uniquely your own.  The impact blast hole takes courage to do for the first time.  Well deserved point.
