I just got my saber today (dark apprentice hilt with guardian blue blade) and I love it.  I just have one minor question; in the blade is a rolled-up sheet of transparent plastic.  Is this important to the function of the saber, or is it just for shipping purposes?  I just need to know if it is okay to leave it in or if I can take it out and put it aside, or get rid of it.

That plastic inside the tube is there to help distribute the light of the LEDs through the tube and give it the look of a lightsaber blade.   You'll want to leave that in place.

Keep it, its the cellophane that helps light the blade fully. What I usually do now days though is grab like the inside of the cellophane, then unroll it until its tight snug on the inside of the blade so it doesn't fall out, if that makes sense. I should still do a video on how to do that

It's called "diffusion film".  In reality it's just several layers of cellophane.  You need that.  If you want your blade to look even better (in my opinion), dull the entire exterior of your blade with 400 grit sandpaper.  It takes the glare off the outside of your blade and makes it "glow" rather than shine.  I love that trick!!!

nice advice!  is this applicable for all blade types (i.e. UltraEdge)?

I'd say yes. If it is inside the blade when you get it,  keep it in there.

Yes!  It looks great on both regular and ultra edge.
