This is way off topic but I think it should be ok to post (since no way in competition with US products)
If mods have an issue feel free to remove I just wanted to show others something I thought was cool


4000 degree saber!
Its rather bulky to power it but I think it looks cool as a concept
He has other videos as well (including a building video for those who want to try making something similar)

Its not off topic at all....and your correct in that it doesn't violate the competition aspect since its not for sale.   Yea, it is bulky, but as he said in the construction video it pretty much is what the Proto-Sabers were like in the Old Expanded Universe.

Is it basically an oversized propane torch? Yes.

Does that make it any less awesome? Hell no.

Hi there, the Proto-Sabers were bulky and had a back-pack to carry the power cells. This made them vulnerable though as many times the connecting power supply
cable would get severed rendering the saber useless.

Back in the real world (well on the Internet) there has been a lot of discussion on social media as to whether this is a "real" saber or not. Other descriptions have ranged from a blowtorch all the way through to a jet engine! Whatever it technically is, it is impressive.

Is it "exactly" a lightsaber as defined in star wars....no.  Of course not.  The technology is pretty much never going to exist to give us the lightsaber from star wars.  But it IS the closest to one anyone has ever gotten.

We need to find a Kyber crystal first for it to be a true Lightsaber  Wink
