I had recently purchased a Consular, in consular green, but the hilt was too wide for me to comfortably duel with, even with the shroud removed. I have smaller hands. So I put it up for sale, and purchased a used Initiate V4 with Obsidian V4 soundboard, in guardian blue. I look forward to learning how to program sound fonts onto the board, and having sound on an Ultrasaber.

Sorry to hear about your consular not being compatible =(
Initiate v4 are fun! My son loves them ^^'
It was a good learning experience. I know to stick with the simpler stunt-styled hilts, now. I owned two Initiate's about ten years ago-ish, so know that they fit my hands well. Hopefully the V4s aren't much thicker than the old V1 and V2s. |

Thank you for the reassurance, I plan on using this hilt extensively and am happy that it fits another wielder with smaller hands. I am about to begin studying the ins and outs of the Obsidian board. I've handled other sabers with sound, and am very happy to be the (near-future) owner of an US with sound. |

The V4 is very comfortable, especially the forward choke point, even if it has vents. :-) Another one that is great for smaller hands is the Catalyst or Dark Catalyst. Its fairly thin, and the choke point is very thin, giving a great grip for smaller hands. But you should thoroughly enjoy your V4. I would recommend getting a different pommel for it, for example, a Catalyst pommel, to add a little length. Or as I have mine, an extension from TCSS plus a Malice Round pommel. :-)   |

I wound up taking the shroud off of the Consular and making myself adapt to it, since I did not have a good experience trying to sell it. More than one person tried to scam me, so I decided to just keep it. The more I work with this hilt, the more I like it. He's a permanent part of my arsenal now. I anthropomorphize all of my weaponry. The smaller saber is definitely more female, so far. And surprisingly seems to pair best with the Vader sound font, which kind of shocks me. All weapons seem to have personalities, in my experience. I put on that Vader font and she just seemed happier. Call me a crazy old man, because it's true.  |
