This is my review of the initiate LE V5 and the dark initiate LE V5. I ordered them seperately but this was my plan from the start.   The plan was to get to "opposite" sabers, embodying the Light Side and the Dark Side of the Force. I went for the initiates, in LE and in V5. But in my twisted mind, the "Light Side" one, the Initiate LE V5, would be in Blazing Red. With a red illuminated silver AV switch. Whereas the "Dark Side" one, the Dark Initiate LE V5, would be in arctic blue with a blue illuminated black AV switch. At least, until I got my Dark Sentinel LE V5 with a silver AV switch. And until I saw a couple sabers with SRD blades... So yes. The plan changed. The "Dark Side" one became an SRD blade with a green illuminated silver AV switch.   This SRD blade is gorgeous. See for yourselves  There are small differences between them.  If you get the LE, you can see there are machining marks on the pommel. Those marks do not exist on the Dark version. I also ordered two QD couplers, one silver, one black. To do this.     I got a gold covertech wheel on the Initiate and a silver one on the Dark Initiate. Those covertech wheels do get in the way when in staff form. I guess it's a question of practise. I'm really happy with them. It's exactly what I envisionned. And I absolutely love the SRD blade with green switch. |

I do love the concept and your execution of it... I've similar-ish plans with the Fallen already. It looks like a really good saberstaff!
One thing that's for sure a pro tip when you plan on lightsabers inevitably/by design being a part of a saberstaff (or at least the majority of the time being in staff form) but you still want covertech wheels present... you have them installed on the opposite side but close to the activation switch instead. So, nearer to the emitter not the pommel. That way it also hangs properly/similarly to Maul's traditional double bladed lightsaber when clipped to your belt (though obviously this implies with no blades in the staff or individual sabers either most likely...)

Yup. The staff idea came in late. But you're right, it would have been a good idea to place the wheels higher towards the emitters. Oh well ^^' Glad you like the execution. |

Lovely sabers. I like the idea of "opposite" hilts. Also, black hilts always look stunning in Arctic Blue. And, red is a great color for LE hilts. My first saber was a Grab Bag, it was an Initiate LE V4 in Blazing Red. Sidious style.  |

Your sabers look amazing. I'm planning to get the Dark Initiate LE for my first saber. Stupid question tho... When I go through to choose all the different options, the dark dominix LE pommel is not actually listed as an option... From what I can tell that is the pommel shown in the pictures and on the one you have right? So I'm just wondering which pommel to select if I want it to look like yours does here, I know I would be disappointed to receive it and find that it looks totally different from what I'm hoping. Thanks so much!

The Dominix is just a longer version of the initiate, the pommels are the same by default. You only need to choose between regular ventend (for sound) or solid. And you'll get the regular pommel for the initiate, wich is on the pictures (the pictures on US sabers show the pommel too) =) |
