Looking to hear from anyone who has purchased and tinkered with several sabers about what they feel is the best way to go about selecting a pulse mode color for your saber. Should you select the same color or perhaps a lighter variation of the color or should you select silver?
What do you find to be the most film accurate approach? Which ways look best on camera?
Much appreciated!

Going from Guardian Blue to Blazing Red. There's a brief amount of time during the transition that looks most like Dark Violet Amethyst (Purple). You could experiment around for hours, so I suggest making backups. Pulse
FoC
Lost Grey v4 sound, Emerald driver, and fluttering green button. Taken on iPhone SE Gen 2 camera video. It's a little grainy, but it's color accurate.

Here's an example of over saturation of the red which, in reality, like the Blazing Red in the first video. I added a quote from Palpatine, because I don't have FoC for that saber and it's wild. It was taken on a Fujifilm aps-c type handheld digital camera.

I've covered 2 different sabers and two different cameras in this thread. I hope it helps you make your decision. May the Force be with you.

Very thorough and helpful, point for that effort! I might look this over a time or two making some decisions...

Dark Lords of the Sith have ruled collectively and individually for Millenia. One afraid to wield a power is ultimately unworthy of it. Ascendancy into the light has an apex, yet descent into the darkness is endless. The Dark Side can give or take anything, based on user strength. I claim the title of Darth Prodigal Dark Lord of the Sith as my own. Through pain, our Code, and right of combat it is mine; and so shall it be defended. Follow Darth Bane's wisdom. (Only Dark Side Points Preferred.)

I’ve found that pulsing from Violet Amethyst to Dark Violet Amethyst is underwhelming, because the colors are too similar to really notice the difference.
I have another Emerald saber pulsing from Sentinel Yellow to Consular Green, and the pulsing is highly visible and, to my eye, pleasing. The fact that it flashes to Guardian Blue on clash is another high-contrast touch, but because the three colors go well together, it works well. (Perhaps I could have chosen pulsing from yellow to blue, with green as the Flash on Clash, but that can always be changed later if I want.)
