Black coupler with vents

I have the "regular" coupler with vents, but I have a question about the black coupler:

It looks like (from the pictures) that the anodizing does not cover all of the coupler - is that the case? Can someone post a picture of the inside of the black coupler?

As a suggestion to Ultra Sabers - I'd like to see a coupler that is a smooth fit with the body of the saber and have more subtle venting for the sound. This would make the staffs seem more like one contiguous unit rather than two sabers attached together.
