IF I read it right... you're supposed to be able to download it starting on Thursday. I think it's a trial version, I know they won't let you download the full version for free. Unless I'm reading it wrong.... nope dont need to buy it, trail version lets you play all the starter worlds, so first 10 lvls or so
That's what I thought... and the FAQ says for the trial version your cap level is at 15. |

Well, I downloaded the trial last night, and you don't have to buy anything. Doesn't even ask for any CC information. Took a while to download though, it was something like 20+ GB
Good news is... I can actually play it on my computer "as is" with just my integrated video graphics.
Bad news... Even though I "can" play it, it's still a little laggy/jerky when I'm moving around. I'll probably need to go ahead and get a graphics card if I want to play it without getting killed all the time

That might help a little. I could try it, but if I researched it right the integrated graphics on my computer is right at their minimum requirements. A little boost would help ensure everything continues to run smoothly. My onboard graphics card couldn't handle it well either, I got a graphics card from best buy that was about $100 and it runs great! The card I bought had 2 gigs video ram on it.
Yeah, the same thing had happened to me back when I first started playing EverQuest (remember that one?). I had to install some more RAM, which helped a little, but when I put in a graphics card BAM, it ran great. I have 4 gigs of RAM on my computer now, and I can always upgrade to 8 GB if needed, so I know I'm ok there. I think a fairly cheap graphics card, something in the $80 - $120 range, should do. I want to make sure it has at least 1 gig of RAM, whatever I get. |

No clue. I haven't finished downloading yet! Not sure if it's the game, or just a patch(I think it's a patch). Whatever it's downloading is taking forever and a day. |
