i just bought some rechargable NiMH AAA batteries, and after receiving the saber back from warranty work to get the right color (which was probably a battery issue, i was using a subpar brand of battery apparently) its now lime-ish the whole way up the blade.

Interesting - I received a SY MLS today for my Consular and find it's a "greener" yellow than my Initiate.  There's no lime strip in it, nor any noticeable hint of green but it's closer to a true yellow than my original unit.

Having a hard time photographing it today, but I threw a short video together that demonstrates the contrast.  Both sabers with fully charged batteries of the same manufacture, both in 36 inch standard blades.  Worth noting, I'm fond of both of the permutations.  New consular on the left, old initiate on the right.

I was playing with the Rosco filters and came across this really nice yellow, and the orange is the chip filter that comes with the AS. (almost perfect match for the FO in color and brightness.

How is FO in real life. Maybe it's just me but in the pictures it looks pretty yellowish

It's definitely orange. If you want something to compare it to, I've found it looks similar to orange juice.
Fire Orange looks yellow in pictures, but in person it's clearly orange. Lighter orange than Pyrestone, but still very clearly orange.

Comparisons of Fire Orange, Pyrestone Orange and Blazing Red, in that order.
