In recent years, the Rebel Legion in the US does not really do choreographed lightsaber performances. Even if they somehow do a performance, they are restricted to "canon" fights - with fully canon characters - re-enacting Anakin vs. Obi-Wan, Luke vs. Vader, Obi-Wan vs. Vader, Anakin and Obi-Wan vs. Dooku, etc. At non-Lucas-approved/sponsored events, although the "canon fight" limitation is removed, they're still restricted by club charter to their canon characters and costumes. So if you desire to invent your own Jedi or Sith characters and choreograph an "original" fight, you must form your own club, although it will be unlikely you will ever receive Lucasfilm approval/sponsorship. Or at least that is my understanding of it. Anyhow, this is off-topic. (If a Rebel Legion member would like to correct me, please be my guest - I may have drunk too deeply from the SaberWars kool-aid. ) we have been putting on saber fights as part of the rebel legion for the past 3 years. our fights are not canon and we are not face characters. as far as i know the only rule is we cant involve the audience or teach them anything about using a sabre

If you head over to SaberWars, you'll see my thread re: Rebel Legion choreo/reenactments of fights and the feedback of one NYC Rebel Legion/501st member there. I'm starting to think that it comes down to how much individual Garrisons/Bases adhere to the overall rules. Some know just how far to push things. Anyhow, this is far off topic, so shutting up now.

On-topic: This forum could _really_ use a "Member Map" plugin. http://forums.ultrasabers.com/vbgooglemapme.phpPeople wouldn't have to post their exact Lat/Long, just... city? Hopefully the forum admins will consider this suggestion.

Just got my first saber. I got what I believe to be a Phantasm V3, but since I got it at the Comic Con here in Phoenix, I don't know for sure. I am looking for anyone in the area of Phoenix to spar with. I have been sparring with bokken and shanai off and for a few years now.

Mostly hot, with a mild chance of blistering 12 years ago I would have been in Texas and did not know much about swordsmanship. Who am I kidding, I still don't know much. It's fun tho, that's what counts.

Anyone in Utah?
Big Andy, Salt Lake City. Though unfortunately I don't have very much free time, I work a lot. I do have a friend in orem that I spar with about once a month or so, he lives in the apt complex on the west side of I-15 almost due west of the UVU campus. Where are you located in Utah?

The Jedi are simple minded fools who try to avoid there feeling when feelings are the path of true power. The Sith on the other hand are just as foolish in only using anger to fuel there power. To unlock true power one must utilize all of one's emotions.

Either this or next weekend there will be a throwdown in Jammo and Dreaming's yard in Phoenix. Depending on who can make it, it could be rather amusing.
