I binged the new Gundam series on Netflix; Requiem for Vengeance. To anyone with interest, I highly recommend.
- The character design/animation is the worst part of this series. They attempted motion-capture, but didn't have enough articulation on the faces....unless they were constructed for the original Japanese speech, and then had to be dubbed in English. But some of the characters are just lifeless.
- The mecha/machine design is......bodily function inducing. I've waited many years for a CGI Gundam series of this caliber, and it did NOT disappoint.

- The one thing that disappointed me about the Zakus was the lack of use of the shields....but we don't have to talk about that.
- The Gundam's beam saber effect was breath taking. Instead of simply being a giant lightsaber, it was its own thing, and it was beautiful to behold.
- I giggled at the absolute "#$%& YOU!" nature of the Gundam's beam weapons. World's most one-sided fights.
- My favorite aspect of the entire series was the *Hunter-esque duo formations of the Gouf customs. One can see, in the 8th MS Team, that this elite MS is a nightmare on its own, but 2 of them working in
tandem was sublime. This adequately mirrored the night terror aspect the Zeons faced with the new Gundam. (* "Hunter" referring to the walking tanks from Halo.)

- Finally, the background landscapes/environments completely transcend the uncanny valley. You pretty much just have to go off the given that the series is completely CGI, otherwise it looks live action. Absolutely beautiful.
Pinpointing its place in the canonic timeline is difficult, and the ending seemed a bit clunky, but it has quickly risen to one of my all-time favorites.
