Currently listening to the album, Eden Fire, by Sonic Syndicate. Man, these guys put out the greatest music I've ever heard in my life. Eden Fire is the pinnacle of melodic death metal and listening to the album is like going on a wild fantasy adventure to unknown lands filled with the strangest mysteries.... It's so freaking IMMERSIVE. Also, I swear that listening to this whilst studying is helping me focus so well too.

So I went to the concert last night. Saw Eve to Adam, In This Moment, and Halestorm. Eve to Adam was ok, but ITM and Halestorm both played the best show I've ever seen!! ITM did a lot of their heavier stuff, interspersed with a few softer songs. Very good set, and it kept the crowd going great! The mosh was pretty good too, considering the tiny venue. ITM was more stylized and theatrical, while Halestorm was more along the lines of what bands normally do on stage. I will say, the one major thing that made the show for Halestorm was not their singer. It was their drummer. That guy had more energy than the other 3 of them combined! At one point he played a 10-15 minute solo, where he started with normal drum sticks, then played by hand, and then played with a pair of corkball bats! Unfortunately, I had a terrible angle for Halestorm, so no video of them. I did get a little video of ITM though. Forgive the shaky camera. The mosh was literally right next to me.
