My experience is that 1/8" blades are too rigid and can hurt (the fingers, if nothing else), especially if used by newcomers to the hobby. I'd recommend 1/16" blades to anybody who isn't completely sure of what he is doing.

Great tip Ander, I feel the same way!  The heavy grade blades are great for training and definitely have their perks, but I push the midgrades for safety reasons.

@Guardian - I'm flattered as well, but don't think too much of it... I'm really no big deal Wink
