I was shown a similar video before by my wife's partner's husband.  He is a very well known attorney in KY and you should have seen the look of glee on his face.  When an attorney gets excited, someone is getting sued.  Coded sequence or not, some things should just not be made.  I am pretty sure I'll see someone in the ER soon that will have lost a finger to this thing while playing a new form of drunk roulette.

Is there a way to replicate the growing effect in an Ultra saber though. As that would be cool!

Its teh only thing the Master Replica's still ahve over an Ultra Saber!

The effect you speak of is a rail-guided mirror within the tube. Point the saber down, and the mirror slides down, allowing the light to "grow" in the tube. To retract, point the saber up, shake the mirror loose, and voila! Lights out.

One word comes to mind:  Meh...!

I bet you unfortunately they have a whole series of clauses to prevent suing. Such as a clear warning for wearing glasses and such. Greedy companies always do. While I like the idea of a awesome high powered laser, in lightsaber form? No. In just handle form where they only reason for injury is someone stupid pointing at a living thing, and the laser can go 57 miles without falter and you can see the beam? Yes, but still no to getting hurt, but that is part of the human stupidity.

hmm... if the tip holds a strong but small electro magnet on battery with a wireless switch build in on the AV switch of the saber... turn saber on - magnet goes on.. point down... mirror slides up and sticks. Point up and turn saber off.. magnet shuts down immediatly while saber first play down sound and then shuts off the LED.

Shaking the mirror loose from a weak magnet will not hold up in a fight...

Not a substitute for our US's, but the "hilt" is pretty cool.  I wonder, how would it fare as a defence against a dog or bear attack?  :-O

A neat idea, but putting a laser in a saber would make it the most dangerous weapon in the galaxy... especially for one's eyesight. Neat idea, but I'm glad US didn't agree to help them out. Won't need Galen Marek to turn you into Rahm Kota with this thing. Who needs eyesight anyway?

Stupid thing. Too dangerous for the user to be a replica lightsaber, not dangerous enough for the enemy to be a "real" one. Lasers are a dead end for those who want to have a real lightsaber, folks: research some plasma better.
