I'm torn between thinking this a really cool idea and being deeply jealous of all those lovely sabers! Thanks for the tip though. We're moving soon, and I've been thinking about a saber display in the new house.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, if anyone else decides to build one let me know how it looks. One thing I did on this which I think I should point out for other saber addicts: Even though my collection's complete, I left space for one or two more sabers... Just in case US comes out with the Ahsoka Tano model I designed.

Hey, half of mine have stands.... I just need to build another stand for the Phantasm, Vader, Flash, Halcyon, and Wild Horse.... XD Seriously, this is a great way to display with blades though, and it looks pretty sick to boot. BTW.... how in the HECK did you trade a BR Aeon for a Maul Staff? Even unconverted.... Aeon musta been a V3 with sound. Either way, nice trade man. That's an impressive addition to your already impressive collection. |

LOL all those stands take up a lot of shelf space going horizontal, you should definitely look at this as an option.
I put the rings to hold the sabers a bit lower than I should have. If you put them nearer to the top of the board you can barely tell they're there.
The aeon was just a normal US aeon, but what I did was purchase a converted Darth Maul off ebay for 100 dollars somehow (people on ebay really have no diea what a converted lightsaber is worth, I was the only bidder on it!) Then I got a darth maul for free from a friend who wasnt using it anymore, then I sold my Aeon on ebay as a saber staff, and the money I made from that paid for the LED for my friend's darth maul and a new coupler. Bit of a complicated plot, but it worked well.

Ah. I see. An excellent string of dealing there, JMH. BTW, my saber rack is actually a vertical one. Made from wood and mounted on the wall, with a cradle for each hilt. I leave my blades propped up in the corner. Here's a really old picture of it, before I had enough sabers to fill it. lol UPDATE: PB pic removed.  |

Interesting, I like the idea of displaying just the hilts, but I dont know if thats an option for me lol plus I like to have them ready for battle at all times.

Well I'll say this, your design is way easier to build and way easier to add on to. Mine was built for 5, and that's all she'll ever hold. Now I have 12. One of those 12 has a separate stand. Another has a case. I still have 5 hilts laying around places. lol

Give this thing a try and let me know how it goes and what colors you pick, its well worth it and you can just grab the rings on ebay, or in an art and craft store for nothing. With 10 or more its well worth it to display them assembled and vertical like this.
