This saber was purchased for my 5 year old son and he was very excited to have a lightsaber that he could actually beat on things with.
He has quite a few plastic, telescopic tube lightsabers and seems to enjoy them. I was a little worried that he might not enjoy this saber as much as the others because it doesn’t make any sound. My worries were completely unfounded as he hasn’t even picked those sabers up since I gave him his Dark Initiate. Even a 5 year old can feel the quality.
The hilt is pretty short, around 9 inches, and is perfect for his little hands. When I hold it its basically impossible to fit both of my hands on it, but it does feel really nice as a one handed saber and is quite comfortable.
The saber is very light, even with the heavy grade blade. I actually find it fairly difficult to spin around as the weight just doesn’t give me a good feel. It’s perfect for my son though, and he seems very happy with it.
He wanted his saber in blazing orange and runs on 2 AAA batteries. This is a pretty cool color and is very unique. In bright light it seems to look more yellow than anything. Once it’s dark the orange shows through. As with all ultra sabers is incredibly bright. Quite a lot brighter than my Darth Vader force FX saber.
