Thanks Darth Rifter that's a great tutorial, think i'll dig out my brushes and enamel paints and try this tomorrow Smiley

One quick question, you said to clear coat it to stop it from wearing off, I was wondering if the dry brushing could be removed with enamel thinner if I mess it up or just change my mine about it being weathered/battle damaged or would that strip off or damage the black anodising too ?

Yep enamel thinner works fine, had a go at it earlier, wasn't happy with my effort so cleaned it off, will have another stab at it later

Awesome demo with the weathering on that saber and EeRocKK for giving a cheaper way of weathering an already black saber without cashing too much into the process.

I hope this little video will help some people. Smiley
Edit: Also Something I forgot to mention in the video make sure you clear coat paint your saber so the dry brushing doesn't wear off over time.  Wink

Haha never mind I just now saw this. Great video bud.

I bet you could do this with black paint on a silver handle and it would look better,

Thanks Rifter, i already tried it on my Scorpion and it looks AMAZING!!!!!  Question about the clear coat though... i know testers has the clear coat... but should i use the spray or just brush it on like i did the paint?  I'm worried about how the clear coat will look when it dries on the hilt (like shiny or different looking spots where the clear coat is).  Suggestions?  Thanks!

here are some before and after pics.  let me know what you all think..  i'm worried i went a little overboard... but at the same time, i'm going for very weathered... not kinda weathered Cheesy  should fit better with the weathered look of the sith costume I commissioned.  The silver metallic paint seemed to work WAY better on a black anodized saber.  Didn't work so well with gun metal black on my Bellicose.   [img]https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1.0-9/10153763_10203597016830243_8123325472261828522_n.jpg/img]  [img]https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/t1.0-9/10007470_10203597015430208_1919469142712279797_n.jpg/img]  [img]https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1.0-9/10001579_10203597015950221_4805822204307446958_n.jpg/img]  [img]https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1.0-9/10154926_10203597016390232_4120203946356379150_n.jpg/img]

Point for the video! My mom used dry brush techniques in a lot of her ceramics she painted... I never thought of using it on a saber. I'm going to give it a try on my Dominix V2.
