Star Wars.. not just a legacy. Its a lifestyle.

« on: March 03, 2011, 02:50:22 AM »

hello, to all veterans and experienced customers. im about to buy a saber that doesnt come with a covertec wheel. The dominix v2 to be exact (not the LE). From what i see in the pictures, it has no covertec wheel, and i was wondering what i could use in place of one and a way to clip it to a belt.

if you help me out here it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Ironic... I just got done emailing the fine people at Ultra Sabers to install a covertec knob on my Dominix V2 LE, so, LE or not, they said buy a covertec knob, and in the special instruction field, indicate which color of knob you'd like (black would be my guess for you Dominix), and add $10 to your order, and they'll install it for you.

There are also some posts of saber smiths who tell you how to install a covertec knob yourself.  That's my knowledge on the subject matter, other than that, ever looked into a Mag-Lite belt loop?  I'm guessing it if can securely hold a D cell monster it can hold a Dominix... you may want to coat the ring in some kind of latex for a good, solid grip.

Hope this helps you out, this is my first post, but I'm super excited to be on these fine forums, finally, fellow devoted enthusiasts to bounce my ideas off!

Let us know what you decide!

So they'll install it for 10 dollars or does the covertec wheel alone cost ten?

I think it's the price of the covertec+10 for installation.

Covertec is $4, so $14 + your saber + shipping.

Just ask them to install it in the comments section when you order your saber.

We charge $10 to drill and tap a hole in your saber.  Installation of the covertec wheel after that process is free  Grin

I know it may sound like 10 bucks is alot to drill a hole, but we don't just drill, we also tap, de-bur, and if anything goes wrong, we cover it, not you.  So your paying us for the service and for the insurance.  Wink

I'll definitely think about it. It's cool hearing from you ultra. And trust me, I know the process u have to go through. I'm taking precision machining classes, so if any one understands the  process and what it takes, believe me, I know where youre coming from. Thank you for your help and information

Never sounded like a lot to me. I'd rather pay you guys 10 bucks than try it myself and screw something up. lol.

I emailed Deep a while back about the same thing: "And we can install a covertec knob.  just buy it with
your saber and request that we install it in the comments field of
your order, it's an additional $10 to install it.  We can install
it in any location you want us to, just tell us where you want it."

I only inform if I've got proof.

Email shipping@ultrasabers.com to clear up any confusion.  Emory can still charge your card for the covertec wheel if it hasn't shipped yet.
