Sale Thread, anyone?

I'd like to ask the majority here, if they would like to ask the moderators
to put up a sale thread where you can sell your excess Ultrasabers for
others to grab on?

I think this is the only thread we don't have here, but if there's a reason,
can someone please tell me? I don't want to be left behind.

i don't know, i mean... i feel like it wouldn't be respectful to Ultra, since this is for him and his company. Therefore i feel like selling your sabers (even if made by them) would be taking away from their sales. This is just my opinion, i mean, if Ultra is fine with it then i'm not going to bash it. so i mean... it's up the the US staff

I think we should have a buy/sell/trade subsection for used/broken ultrasabers, customizations, saber combat instructions and of course costumes and accessories (COUGHULTERIORMOTIVECOUGH)

However, on the saber side of things, I think there should be some rules to avoid eating into ultra's business:

No selling working, current model, unaltered ultrasabers. We could sell spare parts from broken ones, customized ultrasabers products that we worked on, or archaic models, and that wouldnt hurt their business, especially since those were already purchased, but I don't know about, say, buying an Aeon, finding out it's not your thing, and then selling it at a reduced price. Maybe trading would be a better option for that.

We'd also have to have a dedicated mod, and regulations to manage feedback and so forth, and that could be a headache unless anyone here who's a trusted member wants to volunteer to try to manage it.

Yeah just as long as it doesn't effect ultras bussiness at all. The last thing I want is the people abusing the kindness that is givin to them.
As long as we don't start selling sabers that aren't Ultra's or like JdiKnghtJMH said sabers that are in production at a dropped price I think we could make something like this work, so long as we don't abuse it.

I'd manage a sale section, but to be honest it's a pain in the butt. It wouldn't be too hard now since we're still small, and most of our members aren't even active, but as we grow it'll become increasingly pain staking. But I'd still be up for the challenge if Ultra's game.

I agree that it would be harder as the members grew, but as of now,
thats not the issue.

And I also second the notion, that only Ultrasabers stuff can be sold at the section.
It would be unfair having free advertisement here in their expense.

Since someone volunteered to manage the thread, I don't think it would be a
problem. (with the moderators blessing of course)

We should also standardize video introduction, which allows the buyer to see
for himself if the seller is true to the bargain/deal.

Which I liked the most since you get to see what you're buying. Not, just pictures.

I'd be against video being the standard, I have a 56 k connection and no webcam. I'm still working on getting a digital camera but I think digital video is out of the question lol.

I vote yes for the trading, that seems more appropriate to the type of forum this is.  Selling is a sticky endeavor, and this an Ultra Sabers forum, you want an ultrasaber, you buy one from ultrasabers.  You got one you dont like, trade it to someone else who has what you want, and also wishes to trade.  Since they will all be used at that point, the monetary value is of course diminished, and more a of standard, or categorical type system of value is made.

Of course, having a hundred brains working on this subject is bound to show Master Ultra all aspects, and he'll make what he feels is the wisest decision.
