Well jumping on the bandwagon....

Hey guys, im Veldryne, and I live in Winnipeg, Canada. Also refered to by many canadians as "winterpeg" for the ridiculousness of our winters (-35c before windchill anyone? oh yeah, its flat here, so sometimes up to -50 with windchill)

I became an ultrasabers addict in late march, and have since purchased 5 sabers from them (counting the one to be delivered next week) and founded a small lightsaber group here in winnipeg (about a dozen members) Creating further addicts, who have purchased another 20 or so sabers from ultra in that time. Its great, ordered a pizza last night and the delivery driver actually asked "you're that jedi right?" guess he saw us practicing in the yard while on his delieveries in the last few months hehehe

Im a voracious reader, and have torn through the vast majority of star wars novels. Some other favourite authors include Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files), Brent Weeks (The Night Angel Trilogy), R.A.Salvatore (The Legend of Drizzt). And I game a fair bit (not as much as i used to though) WoW(retired) ToR, Ps3 (Battlefield >>>>>>>>> COD GARBAGE), Xwing flight sims from the 90s, star wars rebellion, almost anything dungeons and dragons.

Im also a fan of spider-man, torchwood, star trek (everything cept ds9, and voyager), firefly, star wars(obvisously) and Liverpool Football Club.

Im married, my wife's name is chelsea, and we have an energetic son named Connor, hes 2 years old and already loves lightsabers (starting him out right huh?)

And I work for the largest cable provider in canada, getting ridiculously cheap internet at home despite being at a 50mpbs download speed. Meaning forums from home load nice and quick....and at work too lol.

if you wish to listen to my randomness @TjKischook on twitter, and durzoblint09 on youtube.

May the force be with you
(just not with you sithy types)

Hey Veldryne! nice to meet you. I love the Night Angel trilogy. I need to get into the Star Wars books, but I don't know where to start... any good suggestions?

With the books, its tricky, because there is so much to read.

Personally, i started with the ever classic thrawn trilogy by timothy zahn.

And then all the xwing books by aaron allston and michael stackpole. Its a series that takes place 2 years after return of the jedi, Wedge Antilles is given mandate by New Republic Starfighter Command to rebuild rogue squadron. It has virtually nothing to do with the jedi, its about the fighter pilots on the frontlines of the galactic civil war, and it intoduces you to my favourite star wars character. Corran Horn.

Id say it really depends though on what characters you want to read about, and what time period.

And Kham, like i said months ago, if you are Peter Parker, Im Ben Rielly.

@Doc Strange, with the star wars books, like i told someone else, pick a character or an era and i can help point you in the right direction. I own most of the star wars novels inluding hte kids ones, but i also have copies of them on my iphone...all 300+ of them

I think it would be smartest to start with the main line. That would mean following the Skywalker family after ROTJ. All other stuff can follow that.

As usual I shake my fist at your disdain of Call of Duty, but your love of Forgotten Realms books reminds me of why I forgive you for that Wink

Also, I can never get over how awesome it is that you've formed your own little Jedi club...

Battlefield > cod

Better technical advice. Andy Mcnabb knows his shell.

Bullet drop, better representation of the weapons actual traits. Being able to actually use your fire selector...

Sorry man cod blows

Maybe one day I'll actually get to play Battlefield.  Perhaps once I beat Arkham City...

Do it! No kill streaks, no perks, actual bullet drop, and knifing isn't retarded, you actually have to pull it out and catch him completely off guard
