I've heard (though I don't know haw valid it is due to my lack of knowledge in this area) that the Forum colors have not been "perfected" (if you will). They sometimes don't come out looking exactly like they should. Because of this, if US were to put them out available to the general public, buyers who don't understand this would get mad at them saying that they didn't give them what they ordered. Again, I don't know that for sure, but that is what I have gathered from my time here.

That is correct. I also spoke to Marlena about it and she mention that the colors aren’t always exact since depending on the installer, it may be little darker or lighter but will be close.  These colors have many variations because of it but I don’t mind it if it’s slightly different myself.

Lots of things can affect mixed colors, including power source, resistors used and LED type and brand. They've likely come up with a formula for SRD, AB and VA, thus them being main choices. I know a lot of work went into Tri AB (the only mixed color Tri option) and they even pulled it for a while and later re-released it. I think it wasn't quite right the first time. Ultrasabers puts a lot of pride into what they produce and will hold a release until they feel something is 100% where they want it. Obviously, they recognize the want for these colors and have provided a way to get them, but the formula isn't exact, so they prefer not to have it as a main option.

I will say that I got lucky on my yellow sabers. Mine are very yellow, but I've read they can come out on the green side. I knew this before ordering and ordered anyway, because I love yellow sabers. I'm just glad Ultrasabers has the option. It was easy to order, and literally only took two extra steps, add the requisition charges and specify the color in the order notes. Easy peasy.

Having a tech background and fiddling with electronics and mechanics, I understand that not everything are the same but are pretty close.  Most people arent technologically savvy so they nip pick on things and want things “perfect”.  I think if people take the time to have a better understanding of how things work, then they wouldn’t complain as much.

This I can attest to having studied Theatrical Production at college and learnt about stage lighting (albeit the lamps were a little more powerful but the basics still apply) Lamps varied in output, Power Dimmer Packs had different tolerances, inherent resistance produced by differing length cabling...the LEE/Roscolux filters would degrade over time...even the atmosphere the light was projected into all caused changes.

It seemed at times to be more like Alchemy than lighting engineering!
(And one of my tutors designed the lighting for the West End show Phantom of the Opera)

I like the DIY kit idea MP, I would buy it.

As for the soundfonts idea, you can just do it yourself when you get it, as US having to pay the labor for someone to do that would definitely not be 25 cents.  But I can see Kazuto is an advocate for the uber-lazily impaired, so keep the hope alive I guess.   Wink

No I'm saying because I tried it set my step and either the sound board friend or the speaker fried, but go ahead patronize me.

Also making suggestions to make things fairer for all users does not make me lazy, and if you scifidude79 are gonna give crap to anyone who thinks people shouldn't have to join the forum to know they can get more colors, that's a horrible way to maintain forum members. It's border line Elitist BS.

Also you don't make money hiding bonus options...it's just called good business.

Hey there Kazuto, knowing Edon for as long as I have and talking to him on many conversations, I can honestly say that he was joking around and it wasn’t meant to offend you in any way.  Also, if you felt that he was attacking you, I’d just PM him and he’ll tell you and explain to you what he really meant.  I have yet to see him attack anyone in the forum and I doubt he plans to start now.

I hope you understand this, we like to joke around with each other new or old members and don’t mean any harm.  We typically do that with members like we tend to like

Stay positive there, bud

Hello! I love your products and I use them a LOT. I am an engineer and have a few suggestions:
1) have a pull string attached to the Lithium Ion Battery Packs so they are easier to pull out to load
Agreed, that would make it much easier to pull the battery and other electronics out of the sabers.
Quote
2) give the batteries a little more wire! if you take them more than an inch out of the saber you risk damaging the wiring because they are so short.
Not the easiest thing to do in a confined space, unless the batteries have no wire at all, instead having a connection plate or tabs.
Quote
3) the LED rattles in almost every saber i've held unless it was just pushed down. Add an o ring or some padding there.
A foam incert or something that could hold the LED module would be a great addition to the sabers.
Quote
4) make the top parts of sabers interchangeable just like the pommels are. People would buy more of your cheaper sabers if they could swap out emitters, shrouds, etc.
This would require an entire redesign of the cheaper sabers, but at the same time would push those same sabers into a higher price bracket, thus they wouldn't be the cheaper sabers anymore.
Quote
5) Make your blades threaded. I have a Bellicose with a blade holder and I had to machine additional holes for retention screws to avoid a rattle during vigorous sparring matches (i'm in a group that competes with them at fencing schools).
That would require an entire redesign of every saber in the line up, and it would ultimately add to the cost.
Another option would be to affix some electrical tape to the socket end of the blade, it gives the set screw something more to bite into, plus it snugs up the blade a little more.
Quote
6) your basic sound board is a $100+ upgrade, and yet the saber does not have a mute button? I would have spent 100 bucks to make mine have basic sound, but i don't like that i don't have a Volume Control or Mute. A 3 hour long flow or sparring session will make you get really annoyed with sound fx, trust me.
The V4 sound board has a mute option, and the Diamond board has a volume control.
Quote
7) Sell customization parts and kits such as leather to wrap the hilts in.
Agreed, some more customizational items would be a great thing, like button screws, and so on.
Quote
Cool the covertech wheel is too big and gets in the way of my grip. How about an option to have a clip on the bottom of certain pommels? The old school original graflex sabers used in the movies had a clip like that and it doesn't get in the way of my 2 handed grip.
If you don't use the covertech wheel, you could always remove it, and replace it with a button screw, or leave the hole.
Quote
9) whoever you buy your caps from, ask them to make them more transparent and machined to be more even! Every blade i've bought, the tip is slightly off center to one side and is also a much denser look so it stands out like a sore thumb. Props for making them threaded recently, though!
The tips have a reflector in them to reflect the light back down the blade, this could be why they look a little off.

That's my wishlist
That's a good list.

I shall take your word for it, but I really stick to wanting the option to have them install sound for a buyer after my personal bad experience.

I completely understand where you’re coming from and there’s nothing wrong with that.  Half of us live to tinker and DIY while the others like to buy and collect. There’s nothing wrong with either.  Just don’t take it personal when you get teased, the guys and gals here are a great bunch and jokes around quite a bit.  That just means your part of the family is all.  Grin

I do have another suggestion, if possible attack on titan style saber hilts. Or one like a rapier.

That’s a great idea! AOT style hilt would be pretty bada** indeed!
