I agree with redundancy, add another retention screw and give out a disclaimer.
Or the one already there could go through the "sleeve" - holding it in place, but also act in the same manner it already does. Just now, you wouldn't NEED it for just cosplay, photo ops, or display (even some very light, slow spinning). Yes though - a warning or disclaimer stating to tighten the retention screw for heavy spinning or dueling would be a good plan too. Anyhow - just a thought I had... |

I had thought of a "quick release" blade...
A "sleeve" with vertical grooves or channels (they'd go towards the LED, but then do a 90o) would fit inside the emitter, and hold "pins" on the actual blade. You'd insert, then twist (a twist lock?). It could even be spring loaded...
That would be awesome, but might be difficult to do a combat ready version of. Would require testing to see how it holds up to stress. |

That's just it. You'd have to forego the combat aspect of Ultrasabers in order to employ a quick-install blade. |

I got to thinking about the mystery boxes, and thought, hey wouldn't it be cool if there was an option to select what you want for electronics.
For example you could pick a saber with Diamond, Emerald, V4 Sound, Stunt, etc. Then you could get a saber with the electronics you want, and still have no idea what the saber is going to be.
I think that would make a lot of saber fans happy.

Anyhow - just a thought I had...
I completely agree with one through the sleeve to hold it in place. I like that idea, this would be ideal for both cosplay, traveling with the saber and even spinning and dueling. |

That too, recessed av switch would be a nice addition to options as well =] I'd then have to send in my Savior for that upgrade though if it ever became available  I was talking more on the different emitter looks for the Graflex saber though |

Agreed, recessed AV switches have my vote as well and as an option. I personally like it better for spinning and wielding alone. With any switch, you are aware of the location of the switch at all times subconsciously so with a recessed one, you wouldn't have to think or worry about it. |

Backatcha! The only trouble I see there, is that not all hilts can accept V3/4 sound, Emerald, or Diamond. The Prophecy, the V2 sabers... Is that such a bad thing to have some of the sabers left out of some of the electronics packages. Prophecy can take the Diamond driver, so can the V3 sabers. I would probably be ordering all of my sabers with the Diamond driver anyway, of course there could just be a Diamond Grab Bag or Diamond Mystery Box. -1 point for you. |
