Suggestion Box/Wishlist: what do we want from Ultrasabers?

Did I just see a video for a pixel blade? That is cool. But, can you duel with them?

I've seen people on this board saying it was totally ok. But I can't recall if there was a need for modification of the blade. And maybe it's not the same kind of pixel blade.

of course you can duel with pixel blades.  the real question is will the lights keep working after. answer = most likely.  the LED string does not move much and is typically padded to some extent by the diffuser foam.  the LED pixels (the thing that lights up) are hard but mounted on a thin, floppy plastic sheet which allows some transfer of energy.  i would expect the polycarbonate to become damaged and unusable well before any LED pixel stops working.
i would hope Ultrasabers pixel blades function with similar results.

In my personal experience, no, the LED’s will break and you’ll have dead spots that do not illuminate. They look amazing though…

i guess time will tell us on the pixel blades. 
i will be surprised if the "combat lightsaber specialists" do not have a pretty solid position on this one.

Damn. I looked at my post when I was done and thought, “Nah. They’ll  know I mean the sabers and not the dead spots. I’m good.”

With the introduction of the UltraPixelBlade, there needs to be a new option when it comes to customizing the sabers.  We need an option that excludes the blade, and instead adds a blade plug for those of us who plan to get a bunch of sabers, but don’t need them all to have blades all the time.
What do you guys think?

What do I think? I think you have a great suggestion. So great in fact, it's only a matter of time before they start doing just that.

Totally agree! I was disappointed to see there was no such option. I would have bought at least two sabers by now...

I'm new and only here to drop a suggestion of designs I'd really want. (Sorry in advance if this has already come up or been shot down before, I didn't want to scour 500+ pages of posts). Anyway, I think it would AMAZING if Ultrasaber ended up designing a katana shaped set of lightsaber blades and hilts. I've had a renewed interest in finding a top-tier collectible version of these after seeing Visions and I'm sure the community at large would appreciate it as well. Of course some difficulties with these would be limited customizability as the shape of the flat blade would need a different plug and thus the hilts wouldn't support any other blade (unless a circular insert of sorts was designed at the base to slip into any other saber hilt). Also, what about a darksaber color? I'm not super DIY and haven't tested it but what if there was a solid black core inside the clear blade with space between the two? Would the light from the base cover the internal black core or lose consistent brightness close to the tip as there wouldn't be much reflecting? I'm not a light physicist so I can't imagine if it would work or not. Anyway thanks for reading!

i suspect the "combat saber" part of the company's motto would probably prevent them from adopting the flat blade part of that request. my guess is those blade types would shatter upon contact with most other blades and result in flying shrapnel.  how fast can you say "lawsuit"?
as for hilt, the spectre is pretty close to what you mention.
your idea about darksaber is interesting - could be tried with some of the regular diffusing film and the black core as you mentioned inside that...maybe...
look at tcss blade options for an idea of how this may be done yourself.

there is a custom blade maker out there that does that. so at this point, I don't think the saber companies will make any effort to that end (copyrights, etc.)
so, look into ripper blades for what you're looking for to add to your hilt.

I have a suggestion for a new type of saber for ultrasabers to make. I recently ordered an Ultrapixel Bellicose. Originally, I wanted to get a crossguard saber. But the side emitters are not included in the pixel string. So I bought a Bellicose. Having played around with it for a little while now. I've come up with a couple of ideas for a new saber, if Ultrasabers is up to the challenge.

So I would like to see a fully operational ultrapixel crossguard saber. Main, left and right blades utilizing the strings, (mostly cause your guys work and the way it looks is so O.P ), but more so than that. I would like to see a crossguard hilt designed much like the design of the Bellicose. I would very much like to see that saber be built. Personally I don't think it would be too hard to make, as you would only be adding two other slanted emitters on the side of the already existing slanted emitter.

You could even call it the Bellicai, or something to that effect.
I just personally believe the body style on the Bellicose would make an excellent crossguard saber. And you could charge a lot for a saber that quality.

If created you can count me in for one immediately.

Maybe even have the side emitters the same shape as the Bellicose shroud emitter, that'd look cool =] I can then also see lots of blueing going on for anyone that might get one if they wanted to
