The last two gun shops I have been in (and both within the last week) had just as many women working there as men. Plus the "mansplaining" thing is way overstated. That would be no different then a man thing into a jewelry store and being "womensplained" and probably by a man LOL.

Not really. My buddies was some Belgian make that his father picked up for cheap at an estate sale I believe. I hear Smith & Wesson makes nice revolvers, but I really don't have any models in mind and will look into more than jus S&W. Though it'll be a long while, I have to get my mental issues sorted before I'd trust myself with owning a gun. |

I've been in a few gun shops and they all seem to have at least one female employee. In this case however she said there were only two clerks on, both of whom were men. It's not the shop sometimes, but who's on that determines what happens. And no offense, but I don't believe a man is qualified to determine whether or not mansplaining is a thing, nor the frequency with which it may or may not occur. |

Men don't generally mansplain things to other men, they typically only do to women. Therefore I believe it would be kind of difficult to determine the frequency of something that doesn't happen to you.(It doesn't usually happen when another man is involved, so "I bring my wife places and she doesn't get mansplained" doesn't count as evidence.) I'm not saying it happens all the time, but it happens enough that it's annoying.... Oh and I found some .38s with pink grips! |

Men condescendingly explain things to other men all the time. Women condescendingly explain things to men with regularity as well. My wife tells me women condescendingly explain things to other women. So it doesn't seem like a gendered issue. It probably looks that way because most of us live with only one gender's perspective. That last part is especially true. I've worked retail positions most of my working life. Customers especially, love to explain things condescendingly to me, and it didn't seem to matter much what gender the customer was... Smith & Wesson 637, 642, 442, 638 Taurus Model 85 Protector And then Charter Arms has a couple with pink frames, rather than grips. |

The 357 Magnum Black Hawk Ruger revolver that I have covers the .38 as well because it came with a 2nd chamber that I can switch to and shoot .38s or 9mm. So it's like 3 guns in one. You just have to reset the sites after changing the chamber.  |

My pick would be the S&W 638. Classic J-frame with the snag-free design of a hammerless, but preserves the ability to cock the hammer for single-action precision when needed. With cerakote, you can make the gun any color you'd like. I'm sure there's a cerakote applier in your local area. It's a pretty modern handgun, though. A Beaumont–Adams might be more your style |
