So these are some clips from stuff that I just write down as it pops into my head.

Halo: Sigma’s Cry
Gwen watched as Jim shrunk in the distance. Her thigh was bleeding and she could barely breath but she watched. She flinched as Arthur and Rachael's helmet seals hissed. The Spartans saved her life. They weren't monsters, but soldiers just like us. Biofoam erupted from Arthur's right arm socket and Rachael's torso. The Spartans that had saved her life, may not even survive.
***
Jim turned as the Pelican flew off with his last three teammates. He sighed and examined his SRS-99. 4 rounds. He patted himself down for magazines. None. "Well," he thought, "Let's get this done." The Covenant were coming.

Michael twisted and turned through the back alleys of Timber. Plasma mortars streaked across the skyline. Explosions echoed through the streets, followed by the screams of Covenant and Human alike. Michael reached Bailey Avenue to find that the UNSC forward operations center was nearly destroyed, and what remained of Staple company was in full retreat. Michael quickly turned the corner and dropped to his knee. With two smart bursts from his MA5B, an equal number of Grunts fell to the concrete. He looked to check the retreating UNSC forces, only to watch the last Scorpion tank evaporate in a cloud of Plasma.
Aizen, Gregory and Gwen entered through the back of the South Tower. They crept through the first corridor and past the maintenance offices. Their active camo was doing its job. They continued through the bottom floor of the building, dodging groups of unwary Grunts. Gwen led the team into a storage room where they found the service elevator. They quickly and silently cleared the room. Aisen dragged the lifeless alien bodies behind a pile of boxes while Gregory opened the elevator. He stepped over a fallen marine as he entered the lift and quickly stepped back out.
“The mechanisms are fried. They tossed a plasma ‘nade in there. We need to find another way.”
“Damn it. Alright, let me check the schematics... there should be a stairwell on the other side of the building. Looks like that’s our only other option.”
“What about the civilian elevators?”
“The Covie’s are gonna be using those to get troops to the top.” Aisen commented.
“That’s right,” Gwen agreed, “Which means that we just need to get to those stairs. It won’t be long till the Covie’s find these bodies. Let’s go.”
Gwen’s camouflage shimmered as she became a part of the walls. She left the room. Activating their camo, Aisen and Greg followed.
At the base of the stairs, three grunts through around an inactive frag grenade. They seemed to be laughing as the grenade was passed between them.
“Hot Potato? Really?” Gregory whispered with a chuckle.
Gwen snapped her hand up in a fist and Greg shut up. They watched the Grunts for a moment as they continued to play their stupid little game until one of them stopped, looked at the grenade, fingered the pin and pulled it. The other two Grunts hopped over to it and they all looked at the Grenade for a moment. The fuse consumed its lifespan and in that second, the Grunts were nothing but gore spattered on the walls and a cloud of methane.
Gregory moaned, “Well shell. Now, every Covenant in the building is gonna be looking for the humans that threw that grenade.”
“That’ll just make our job more fun,” Aisen replied checking the ammo count on his Battle Rifle.
“Let’s just get this over with,” Gwen threw in as she moved up the first flight of stairs. The stairs continued to the second floor but not past it.
“What is this shell?” Gregory checked his schematics, “Are you serious? Every flight of stairs is on the other side of the building from the previous one. Well this is frellin’ great. When I find the architect of this place, I’ll kill him.”
Gwen lead them through the offices. She checked around the corners of a wide hallway that bisected the floor. Two grunts to the right and a Jackal to her left. She backed up and deactivated her camouflage. She held up two fingers to Greg and Aizen and pointed towards the right, and one finger before pointing to the left.
“There may be more at the top of the stairs.” She whispered as she pointed to the left.
She breathed deeply and came around the corner. Her DMR flared to life as two oblivious Grunts met their ends. Gwen spun about on her heel and dropped to her knee. A single blast from her DMR sent a bullet blazing through a Jackal’s skull. She rolled to the left as a glowing green plasma bolt whizzed over her. A second and third twitch of her finger sent a new Jackal to hell. Aisen rounded the corner, his BR55 at his shoulder, and fired a three round burst into a Grunt coming down the steps. Gregory followed and, with a powerful swing of his arm, managed a grenade to the top of the stairs. The voices of panicked Grunts shrieked through the building before the blast sent them flying, one of them rolling down the stairs and halting at Aisen’s feet. Gwen stood. She was tired. Her team was fighting, in one day, the average amount of Covenant that a Marine would fight in a week. Goddamn. This is nuts.
The team pushed up the stairs of the tower. Covenant fell left and right; Gregory was nearly killed by an Elite and Aisen was out of ammo. His suit hissed as Gregory unlocked and removed his helmet; He keeled over and puked. That Elite had hit him hard. Gwen remembered watching the Elite slam Greg into the wall then plant its foot in his gut. She winced as her brain simulated what that would feel like. Aisen grabbed Gregory, who was wiping the vomit off his mouth, and helped him stand, “Are you sure you’re alright?” Gwen Inquired.
“Yeah, I’m just frellin’ dandy,” Greg replied as he noticed how red his vomit was, “But I won’t be.”
Gwen nodded. Gregory knew what was going on. He knew that if he didn’t get medical attention soon he’d be dead by morning. Gwen knew it too. She sighed. Greg put his helmet back on. It hissed as the air valves turned on and the helmet became airtight.
“Let’s go.”
The three ODST continued up the tower with little opposition until a sign and arrow signaled that they had but to turn left to reach the open-air bridge that would take them to the East Tower. Gwen tapped the door controls and the team stepped onto the bridge. They were met with plasma fire. The ODST took cover in the building as searing blue plasma bolts scorched the back wall of the transition chamber.
“That turret’s gonna tear us apart!” Greg spat.
“No shell. Aisen, do you have any more grenades for the launcher?” questioned Gwen
“Just one; sending it down stream.” Aisen pulled the compact grenade launcher from his thigh, reached around   and launched the grenade 20 meters over the bridge. The blast killed the shields of the Elite operating the turret and a Grunt standing nearby. Gwen poked around the corner and buried a DMR round in the Elite’s skull. Greg knelt in the doorway and a steady stream of fire from his MA37 ensured that the turret would no longer be an issue. Gwen loaded a fresh magazine into her DMR and dropped two Grunts and a Jackal as they rounded the corner. She sprinted across the bridge followed by Aisen. Gwen and Aisen slammed into an Elite when it appeared at the entrance to the East Tower. A twitch from its finger sent searing blue plasma streaking across the wall. Aisen’s combat knife glanced in the light as it slid across the Elite’s throat and followed through into the back of its skull forcing it way into the Elite’s brain. The creature twitched and another stray plasma round disintegrated branches from a decorative plant in the corner of the East transition room.
Greg stumbled through the door and looked at the dead Elite and fountain of blood in its throat, “What’d I miss?”
“Nothing special.” Aisen replied wiping the purple blood off of his knife.
The trio of ODST stepped into the main hallway of the transition floor when they heard gunfire echoing through the floor below them. Right on time. Gwen thought, The Spartans really are living up to their prowess.

Civilian Life:
Born on, November 18th 2525, Spartan 917 (Arthur Pembrook) was raised in a small town on Reach in the Epsilon Eridanus system. He was raised by his mother and sister. His father, Major Arthur Dennis, was killed in action early during the Harvest Campaign. Arthur, who would come to be known only as Spartan 917, went to an infinitesimal private boarding school on the edge of New Alexandria. During his short time at this school he showed an impressive willingness to learn and a keen interest in physical and mental improvement. His above average test scores drew the interest of Colonel James Ackerson.
Spartan III Program:
After a brief meeting with Colonel Ackerson Arthur expressed his desires to join the Spartan III program in hopes to restore his father’s glory and take revenge upon the Covenant. In 2531, at the age of six, Arthur was taken to Onyx, a planet on the edge of UNSC controlled space. Upon their arrival at Onyx, Arthur and the other recruits were required to jump from a pelican and land safely on the ground. They were given parachutes and told that if they refused to do this, they would be immediately sent home. Seeing as most of them had either abusive parents or were orphans, very few refused. Arthur was the first to jump from his Pelican after watching another recruit jump from the next Pelican over. He was the second one to jump in the entire company. After touch down the students were given their Spartan call-signs. Arthur’s was 917. According to a report by Lieutenant Colonel Kurt Ambrose (Spartan 051) to Colonol Ackerson, Arthur requested that his number be changed to 917 from his original: 382. Kurt accepted the request and upon asking Arthur why he received the reply, “Sir, those were the last three letters of my father’s service number.” Arthur was the closest thing to a Spartan II that Lt. Col. Ambrose trained. In fact, according to his records, ‘If he had been born 30 years ago, there’s a good chance he would’ve been a Spartan II.’ Arthur, due to his immense love for his father, who he barely even knew, knew almost all standard military protocol before the program had even started. So, from the very beginning he was already classified as ‘one of the best.’
Augmentation:
After 5 years of rigorous training, Arthur underwent the Spartan III augmentation process. He survived and went on to lead the Spartan III’s into battle.
Combat Record:
Arthur-917 lead the Spartan III’s into battle during the Insurrection of Mamore, the battle of New Constantinople, the battle of the Bonanza Asteroid Belt, and three other engagements before being hand-picked by CPO Mendez and Lt. Ambrose to lead a Spartan III Special Operations team. Two teams of Spartans were chosen: Noble Team and Monarch Team. Arthur was chosen to lead Monarch Team. Monarch Team was composed of Spartans Gia-A012, Rachael-A390, and Xiao-A471. Gia and Xiao were designated K.I.A. after Operation: FOUNTAIN. (For details see OPERATION FOUNTAIN.3209.8642.7395) Rachael and Arthur continued to work as a two Spartan squad until they were transferred to ODST Team Sigma as replacements for two fallen members of the team. All but one member of ODST Team Sigma was listed K.I.A. after the Covenant invasion of UNSC agricultural planet ‘York’ in the Espada system. Team Monarch survived the invasion and escaped on the UNSC Frigate Cthulhu. Both Rachael-A390 and Arthur-A917 were injured during the battle. Arthur’s right arm was sheared off by a plasma mortar, and Rachael’s wounds would have been fatal had it not been for the flash cloned lungs, kidney, liver, and bladder that were made aboard the Cthulhu. On May 7, 2445 Royal team received four new members: Alexa-B111, Jiwhan-B418, Zen B-372, and Arun B-329. These were Spartans chosen by Lieutenant Ambrose to join Royal Team to avoid OPERATION: TORPEDO. On July 24, 2552 Royal Team is called to Reach to aid in its defense. However, due to its position at the time (Arcadia system) Royal Team did not arrive at Reach until August 14, 2552. By this time, Noble Team had begun OPERATION: UPPERCUT. Royal Team and the destroyer UNSC Chivalry entered the Reach engagement. The Chivalry was destroyed after dropping Royal Team onto Reach via ODST drop pods. Once on the ground, Rachael-A390, Alexa-B111, and Jiwhan-B418 were K.I.A. Zen-B372, Arthur-A917, and Arun B-329 retreated after the order was given by Colonel Hollond. On October 23, 2552 Royal Team was deployed to Luna to destroy a Covenant forward operations base. Royal Team stayed on Earth and fought in the battle of the Great Wall, the battle of Philadelphia, and the battle of Rome along with a multitude of smaller Operations. On December 11, 2552 Royal Team stays behind with Lord Hood and a large portion of the UNSC military to continue the defense of Earth. On December 12, 2552 Sangheili forces returned from the battle of Installation 00 and worked with Royal Team to remove or destroy the few Covenant stragglers that remained. Royal Team is now enrolled in the Spartan IV program as a leading group and training Team.
