Ok so in addition to just sparring and doing matches my group of friends and I also play our saber games as a form of training, so I just want to share two of them, our Duel of Fates and The Gauntlet.

Duel of Fates=
Training for a staff wielder for taking on multiple opponents and training for the opposition to work together.

Ok so all you need for the playing field is a sidewalk with some sort of noteable boundry points, such as a mailbox or a tree(I know the diagram is bad but its all I have).
The staffwielder will start in the middle of the boundry points on the sidewalk and will have an opponent on either side of him. Not sure how everyone else plays, but we don't go by the 'if you get hit in the arm you lose it' method, we go by a 3 point fencing system, meaning if you get hit once you get hit you have a point against you.
In this game the staff wielder has three hits and the two single uses SHARE three hits. If the staf wielder is able to push back one of his opponents to the boundry points then like in the movie the other opponent gets 'frozen' meaning its a one on one for the staff wielder and the single blade opponent, which puts the staff a huge advantage, but that just is more motive for the two singles to work together to keep the staff in the middle of the boundrys.
So the staff wins by hitting the two single wielders a combination of three times all together and the two single wielders win by hitting the staff three times.

The Gauntlet=
The main purpose for the gauntlet is to train the challenger in endurance for they have to complete nine one on ones in a very short time.
Ok I will explain this has best as I can so bear with me. In an open arena the challenger will start by competing a one on one with the 1st member of the gauntlet (blue in the diagram). These two will battle until a single hit is either won by challenger of the member. Once again a hit is a single blow anywhere on the body exlcuding the hands, and if there is a tie the match continues until a real score is made. Immediately following the second member of the gauntlet will fight the challenger. After that the third, and then after that the 1st member goes again.
In order for the challenger to 'win' they need to make it through all nine fights, with getting hit no more than three times, so he needs to win a minimum of 6 of the 9 duels. In order for the gauntlet to win they need to defeat the challenger just 4 times out of the possible 9.

The main stratgey for the gauntlet is to prolong each individual duel and to have each member ready to begin the next battle the second a score is made. Their advantage is they get to study the challenger's technique for multiple fights and each member gets a two fight break to regain their breath and prepare themselves.
Typically speaking this game is done by only using single blades, no staffs, or duel wields. The challenger can be allowed their weapon of choice if it ok with everyone, but the gauntlet member's aren't suppose to be very individual, the entire forcus is to train the challenger.

So yeah, that's two of our games, just thought it would be fun to share and maybe inspire some people out there to give them a try if they don't already do something similiar.

That's cool.  Perfect for me since I have 4 sabers.  I'll try 'em out and get back to you on how they play out.

I like the Duel of Fates Cheesy sounds amazing..
I'm from cologne and there aren't ANY lightsaber duelists here (or atleast I don't know them)
I've told already some people that I'm going to buy one.. and they will visit me when I got one. (Since I'm going to get one with sound.. I will have 2 Sabers, when I purchase before the 7th of april)

So I will have some practice then Smiley
