One thing I forgot to mention is that my wife has had more jobs in the time we've been together (5yrs now) than I've had in my whole life.
And I started working at 15.
It's always just a matter of time for each job that she starts dreading every work day. She just doesn't like work.

I mean, who does? But we all find ways to "soilder on" and enjoy our time off.

But no matter what job she gets, it eventually gets so bad that she cannot enjoy time off either.
I want her to be happy and no let things affect her so much, but she cannot quit this job.
Especially with the way the world is and us trying to buy a house (which is much more her goal than mine)
Our job let's us work from home safely.

I'm conflicted because I cannot understand why she is so miserable. My starting position with this company was similar to hers now and I wasn't miserable.
I'm a "fixer" so it takes a lot of will power to not critique the situation and suggest solutions, but I know she just wants to vent and feel justified instead.

Oh and she was invested in getting this job because she saw how low stress I was about it and all the perks.
But I think it turns out the "I" am just low stress about things.
She wants to be a translator (native Spanish speaker) but she has to get through the entry level stuff first and she doesn't think she can do it.
I know she can, but she gets mad at me for saying so

As great as my job is, for her to not work we would have to make lots of sacrifices to our standard of living.
We have been incredibly blessed, even during these times.
I mean, buying a house seemed impossible last year but with her job and mine, we've been able to save up enough for a down payment and found a nice house we hope to close on soon.

And as much as I am excited to own a home, it was always more her dream than mine.
Once we own it and if our boys move out in a few years, than we could probably afford to have her downgrade to a part time job. I'd be all for that as I know it would make her happy.
But for now it's best if she keeps it. She also wants to travel, so we need the extra income for savings.
I'm thinking long term.

I just think the previous jobs she's had did not prepare her for the pressures of a professional job. But those jobs also had half the pay and fairly crappy environments.
Heck, if she had kept her previous job, she'd be on unemployment now because of Covid19.
Actually because of my income she might not even qualify for that, so we'd really be hurting.

What's frustrating for me is that I have the coping skills for exactly what she's going through, but I can't magically give them to her. So all I can do is watch her suffer helplessly.
I know she's miserable some days, but the alternative is much worse and I hope she knows that.

Yeah, I'm the annoying parent that would have been calling every day (fine, to be fair, I probably wouldn't start calling until about day 3-4). I know that there's no way the doctor's office can rush the results or anything, so I'd probably be as good natured about it as possible. "Hi [Nurse's Name], it's [my name], [child's name]'s father. Just making my daily call in to see if you've received any results yet." That sort of thing. Yes, I know it can get annoying to have a parent calling every day, but it's MY KID, and as long as I'm polite about it, if they don't like it they can zark off.

Messing with any member of my family be it test results etc is never a good thing... but such things as test results im understanding as long as im told a reasonable time to get results

The test for "The Thing" generally takes 2-3 days to come back but with the recent surges everyone is panicking again and running to get tested..which is causing a backlog.

Yeah, that's exactly what's happened in my state, too.  And it's causing all sorts of problems.   Ugh.

Still no results on my kid's test.  Made some calls today, trying to get lucky, but they told me it was taking 8 days to get results.   The problem they're having is, so many people are getting tested that the labs that process the tests are overwhelmed. 

Saturday will be Day 8.  If i hear nothing then, I'll be making more calls.  Meantime, we're stuck at home and it sucks.

At least the speedy reply I got from Ultrasabers was a bright spot of the day.  Hopefully they'll get back to me soon on the order status.  (Come on, good juju, don't let me down!)

And on a related note, today is Day 8.  Hopefully we'll get test results today or tomorrow.   If not, it'll be one angry father making some calls on Monday.

In the same vein as whats going on with Ultrasabers right now...go easy on them.  This new wave of panicking people rushing to get tested has really backed them up.  I have a few acquaintances who are working some of the testing sites and they are working with almost no end in site right now.  By all means be the squeaky wheel...but more concerned parent than angry one.  Just my 2 cents.

 Jedi, I have friends in the medical field and they are seriously overloaded right now, they are working serious hours, being pulled in so many directions, carrying their own fears of there families and yes be firm but remain understanding .

Yeah, I know...you guys are right.  Concerned is a better way of putting it.  It's just been an emotional heartbreaker of a year for us and I just don't want any more bad news, that's all.  Sometimes my common sense and restraint goes out the window.
