So I got my two grab bags and my overlord today!

grab bag 1 was Dominix LE v2 with an ultra edge blade in guardian blue! Looks fantastic! now I know why people love the GB.

grab bag 2 was an Aeon with a heavy grade blade in Violet Amethyst

my Overlord has sound with a red av switch and flash on clash in orange with a adegan silver mid blade.

OK first off the sound blew my mind and woke up my kids who were sleeping upstairs taking a nap. it was midday and grey out and all the sabers were very bright! I think I just found a new addiction. I can wait to duel with my buddies with them! I'll be posting a video review of them all soon!

Nice haul.  Loving the VA and GB.  You are correct about the sound.  Nothing quite like it on earth.

+1 for the sound comment by blue; I can't fire mine up at night unless I palm the vent in the pommel. At that point, even trying to look normal is impossible, let alone trying to swing a saber. The garage will be occupied soon because of the frost in the morning, so I'm running out of room where I can use my saber at night. Maybe I should tape my Bellicose short grooves pommel so I can use it "muted"... hmmm. You know it's loud, (and it's kinda funny), when there's a thread in this forum about how to make one's saber quieter.

You, swords4two, are going to have a blast with those, I think! Remind your buddies that these might leave more than just welts! :D

What do you think about them after having more of a chance to play around with them?

LOL maybe Ill grab a closed pommel for swinging saber by night at home. My buddy's they can take a beating. they are the big burly brutish I'm a teddybear type. lol

Wow S42, those are sick. Excellent luck on the GB's & the Overlord is sweet.
That VA on the Aeon looks really good & makes me wanna try my luck at a GB.
Did you request your blade colors or pick random? Also did you pick your blade type or was that random?
Your Overlord is taking on some of the color from your Dominix & looks a bit like Arctic blue. Still Frakin sweet though.

I just order the blades one heavy and one ultraedge and had the colors on random. What's fun is there are the same hilts and if I customized them and get a coupler i could have a double bladed saber:) I love the VA after I put new batteries in. My brain is going crazy on what I can do to the hilts.

They all look awesome good haul for a first buy, geez

I hear ya. I have a anakin fx, and eventhough sound is awesome most of the time. I wish i could turn the sound of sometimes. That Dominix le looks really sweet. I might have to order one of those this week to tide me over till i can afford a tricked out Manticore.

So, is the VA really purple, or more of a blueish-purple?  because I've heard mixed comments about it.

My son's Prophecy in VA arrived two days ago, and it is purple and awesome. I'd even argue that it's brighter than my CG! I love my CG, but the VA is equally impressive!

That prophecy rocks...VA is good BUT DVA is so much better...check into it...I have it on my DWG and I love it.  A very sith color, IMO ...

I tried to convince my son, but he stuck with the Violet "Ammemmist"! DVA is more indigo than purple, I hear. That does appeal to me but my son wouldn't have it. VA replaced the GB he originally chose and to that, I was most surprised. Anakin is his fave SW character... I guess he likes Mace!

Simeon, definitely investigate DVA as well though as it is a great point digitalsithlord brings up here.

VA is purple where as DVA has a more blueish tint to it.  it is still purple but just has more blue in the mix.

It was funny at first My daughter kept saying it was pink and I was saying it was violet and she kept saying pink. I love the color though it rocks. Now I am thinking a prophecy in VA cause your sons Prophecy looks AWESOME!

Thanks man! From certain angles, the colors diffuse at slightly different rates through the film and blade, and it's enough to slightly separate the blend in the colors and a rosy purple does show through (you can actually see both colors in the same spot, if that makes sense at all). It's really, really bright at any rate. I think Bane's Heart is the closest thing to pink, though I've never seen it in person.

By the way eerockk, there are two reasons the VA looks brighter than the CG. 1 it has a shorter blade, which gives the LED less distance, thus making it brighter. 2 the VA is made with two LED's so it should have a bit more power.

Not necessarily. 2 LEDs are still being driven off the same power source, so if anything, and since we both have the same setup, the VA should be dimmer! The short blade does make it brighter, but when the blades are swapped, the VA is still brighter.

It's the colour wavelength that's causing this. Violet light's wavelength is shorter than greens, and I suspect that the refraction off the blade diffuser with the faster wavelength is the cause. I can't believe I actually relied on my high school physics class for this! That was 18 years ago! :)

Great looking sabers you got there, that first pic is sweet.
